It starts Thursday for a field of 132 ... top-60 plus ties make the cut. The venue should be no mystery to many of the players, Joyo Country Club, which has been a regular stop for the Kyoto Ladies Open on the Step Up tour. It's been around since 1959:
It has 36 holes ... they'll be playing the East course at 6,555 yards (it was 6,355 for the scrubs last November).
*******
Advance ticket sales only with a planned max of 8,000 per day ... Thursday and Friday will be about $30 USD each and Saturday and Sunday will be about $44 USD each.

The Round One highlight reel was the Nana Suganuma Show, which included a chip-in birdie and a chip-in par from Downtown ... I noticed she had Mr. Shimuzu on her bag, the Steve Williams of Japan.

Minami Katsu (+2) and Yuna Nishimura (+1)
Haruka Kawasaki (-3) ... a rookie, age 19 ... has done nothing on the big tour, but has one win, one 2nd and one T-2 against the scrubs.

Kumiko Kaneda ... is that her on her own yardage book cover?
Ah Reum Hwang (E)

Miyuki Takeuchi (-2)
Hori One (E)
Kana Taneda, who I never heard of before, has been around for a while ... now 27, she joined the big tour in 2015, but got demoted twice to the scrub tour.
Mone Inami ... uh oh, where is the Masking Bulls*** Police when you need them ... I see two chin straps, one exposed nose and several out-and-out violators.

Kotone Hori had a decent second round minus three after even par first round. Maybe too far out of the lead to make a run for the Title.
Yui Kawamoto minus two today after plus two first round. At even par she sits on the cut line.

Yamashita up by one stroke with six holes remaining in Round Three ... I expected that.

I hope Haruka Morita wins ... then the usual sources will post a WITB ... I'm curious to see if ANY of her gear is from Kasco, besides her umbrella and glove ... they have some seriously funky s*** in their 2022 catalog:

Chairwoman Mao

The Shinster (-4) ... what is that belt buckle? Also, I can't recall her NOT having Mizuno irons, until now.

Asako Fujimoto
Hori Two (-6) with a stand bag ... is her mom looping for her?
Shoko Sasaki
Nanoko Hayashi (E) ... MHL is also with MU Sports, but I don't recall her going for this particular type of outfit.
I saw Fumika Kawagishi (-5) at Bedminster in 2017 ... before she hit rock-bottom about two years later ... will try to complete the circle on Sunday, but she's too far back.

A Star is Born? At 19, the youngest winner of this event won't have to play against the scrubs anymore ... the mini-Augusta roars she generated on the Back Nine:

Kotone Hori had a decent Tournament with a tie for twenty fourth place.
Good Final Round for Yui Kawamoto minus four. Picking up points and money is always good.
