Kotone Hori says she was disappointed about the two bogey on back nine second round. But I was able to improve my score, minus seven the Final Round. Next week is a Major so I will tighten my mind again and do my best.
Meet young KLPGA rookie Hye Joon Park. She had an unusual path to the KLPGA: she lived for a while in Fiji, where she started to learn English and golf.
But her Fijian sojourn didn't last long, as there were not enough golf events there to test her mettle. And so, the family moved again to the Gold Coast of Australia, where they lived for five years.
She planned on joining the Symetra Tour when she turned pro, but Covid caused them to rethink, and they went to the Jump tour instead. It took her little time to breeze through and earn KLPGA status at Q-School for 2022.
Born in 2003, she is part of this great rookie class of 2022. She played 36 events when in Australia and won ten of them. She is 177 cm tall, which is two cm taller than Dumbo! She is also a long hitter, with frequent 260+ yard drives, but far more accurate than Ina Yoon. So far in 2022, her best finish was a t-10 at the KLPGA Championship.
Same old, same old ... Stanford waffled everyone at the season-opener Carmel Cup. The Zhangster (2nd from left) set the Pebble Beach women's record with a 63 ... and a big asterisk ... the course was only 6,156 yards ... expect a much tougher set-up when the USGA takes over for the 2023 USWO.
