The KLPGA has a tough decision regarding Ina Yoon. Even thou it was a KPGA Tournament and she has been given a penalty for the violation. Do you give her a second penalty on top of that. She has already decided to suspend her play for the rest of the Season. Anyway it's their decision and as a KLPGA fan, nothing will change for me what ever they decides.
I do know that a Star is needed right now, because none of the better players are doing anything lately.
Hee Jeong Lim isn't playing any where near how she played last year with two missed cuts.
Min Ji Park has gone into a slump and her aggressive putting instead of falling is causing her to three putt.
So Mi Lee is still missing short putts which has kept her from winning more Tournaments.
Hyun Kyung Park making a lot of putts is when she contends.
Ga Young Lee and Yewon Lee has under performed lately.
This should have been a slam dunk win for Hae Ran Ryu but she is five out of the lead.

I feel the same way about a star being needed. Nobody is stepping up their game and getting the wins. Minji was strong early, but like last year, she's fading badly in the second half. Still hoping she can turn it around. Hae Ran might be the most frustrating - gets close, but then fades in the last round (this week, a bit earlier). Where's her LPGA-level talent? So Mi is usually in the top 10 or so too, close to the lead, but then can't get it done. I forgive Hee Jeong - she missed some early tournaments because of the car accident and concussion. Maybe still not at 100% (despite the win). HK is so inconsistent. Maybe these players need more aggression? More motivation? more of a challenge? Is KLPGA too comfortable? They all make a good living, have rabid fans, so is there any incentive to really go for it every week?

Really? A star?
I disagree. It was boring last year when MinJi was winning every week it seemed. I didn't want to watch.
I think the best period last year was when Hyun Kyung was finishing second week after week and the duel with MinJi.
I think one dominant player is less exciting than having a couple players battling over a number or weeks.
The KLPGA needs Ina, for sure. She should be playing. But the success of Ina or Minji or Hae Ran needs a friendly rival.
Also, you can see the problem when the fans and tour are focused on players who go into slumps rather than focusing on events and courses and holes which don't change.

You're delusional if you think the game will ever be driven by courses and specific well-loved holes. Fans love the players, love to root for their favourites. Even when they're doing poorly, they still root hard for them and follow them. There's always hope. This is especially true on KLPGA, where there are so many official fan clubs. Guess there are plenty of "stars", just wish some of them would step up and win more often, or at least be in contention on the final day. It's fun when a player is dominating for a while, or constantly threatening to. Plenty of favourites and past winners have won this year, though - Minji, Hae Ran, A Yean, Hee Jeong, Ga Eun, Han Sol - so maybe we're just being greedy.
Try starting a Rainbow Hills fan club, haha - bet you'll be pretty lonely.

People can also be "encouraged" to watch an event because the event is famous and course is remembered. US Open at Pebble Beach, Wing Foot, or The Masters, for example. People can show up or watch online big events regardless of who is contending. In the KLPGA, this won't happen. Because SBS Golf doesn't get paid by golf courses, and the tour doesn't have 70 years of history. SBS Golf bumps along from one cute face to the next never caring about how players approach holes or courses hoping some short skirt and smile can attract viewers. Not one documentary reviewing the drama of events or players in the past. If I was an event sponsor, I would want my event talked about as much as possible and what better way to drum up interest then a winter documentary on some awesome back nine five years previously.

Speaking of AWOL stars, Eee Da Yeon is not defending at Hanwha next week ... might be finished for the season with a bum elbow:
*************
How funny would it be if one of the visiting/invading dinosaurs (Mickey Mouse, JTibs, Inky, MY Lee) beat the "stars" next week?

I feel like when an event ends on Sunday afternoon that people expect us to forget it as soon as possible. Only thing to remember is the pretty smile of your favorite golfer in the press photos, so you watch next week.
Wind, Drama over the last few holes, thick or thin rough are all to be forgotten. Documentaries? What are those?
It's Sunday evening. Time to focus on the major next week.
What happened over the last few days? I don't know. I'm not supposed to remember it seems.

Congratulation to Han Jin Song for the come from behind win. Time to move on to the next Tournament. Tell the golfers to wear potato sacks because they are hurting someone feelings.
