Small amount of good news for Ina: recall that Hite/Jinro had signed Ina last year to a three-year contract. On December 5th, Hite announced that they plan to honor the contract and will continue to pay for Yoon's sponsorship through to the end of the contract, which would be for at least the next two seasons.
Reading between the lines, this might be another small sign that they don't think she will be sitting around for the next three years...

A 3 year suspension is nonsense.

New Year's message from Ina: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm3BEbQPJ1X "The new year of 2023 has already dawned. After a lot of learning from last year, I will grow and develop even more in 2023. I would like to thank everyone who supports me and I sincerely wish happiness to the fans and everyone who loves me. Happy New Year. I appreciate it.🫶" This is her first post on her Instagram that allows comments since the incident. She has already received 586 (!) responses.

Ina driving a 240m par 4 earlier today at a screen golf center (using a 5 wood? Rescue?). She's like the Greta Garbo of golf: a photo here, a clip there, then a lot of silence. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm8nsUeIgYY

The Ina Yoon fan page recently posted a video of Ina heading off to winter training (they didn't say where). So she's still working on her game, even though she seemingly doesn't have anywhere to play? I wonder if there is some behind-the-scenes negotiating going on with the KLPGA where the tour will "magnanimously" announce that she has been forgiven before the 2023 season starts in earnest in April? If not, where might she tee it up? It would be fun to see her play the Vic Open in Australia in early February. This is an event that often has a few young Korean guns in the field (remember when Ayean Cho contended a few years ago?). I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see her there. Vic Open field info

Light at the end of the tunnel? I'm starting to see articles like this one, which are talking about how the KLPGA should reduce or even remove Ina's suspension. Ina Yoon and AmnestyThe points they make are much like the ones I made, including that far worse rule violations in other sports do not get nearly the punishment, and that suspending a player for three years could destroy her career. Some interesting tidbits: "Sympathy for Yun Ina is hot online and offline". "A representative who runs a golf course in Chungnam is receiving a petition praying for Yoon's relief. " They also point out that an online discussion site, OpenTalk, filled five rooms (1000 people/room) in a recent discussion of the case, with most of the people leaning towards Ina's side. I'm still hopeful that she will be back on tour before too much longer or, barring that, will definitively leave the tour and go elsewhere.

A recent photo of Ina Yoon -- heading to training? Coming back from training? Not clear. https://www.instagram.com/p/CskD5bNv9r5 This article talks about a growing clamor to see Ina take on Shin Shil Bang to see who is the long bomber of her era. Who wouldn't want to see that? I sure do. FFS, KLPGA, enough is enough, lift the suspension! (the article has one bit of news: apparently Ina has received a few offers to play in overseas events but has turned them down due to 'self restraint'. So if she would just get out of her own way, we could see her in action perhaps soon.)
