Numerous teams are set, per the link above, which also includes singles that haven't team up yet ... strange to see Korda One & Two not paired yet. BadA$$ is playing this one for the first time ... has no partner (MHL, get on the phone now).

Seeing NYC with Francella, while makes sense based on ranking, is tough.

Yealimi and A Lim did really well last year; I wonder if they can spur each other on this year. Noh in particular needs some positive mojo right now.
Eun Hee and Hyo Joo is notable; they both have wins this year.
Na Rin An and Hye Jin Choi for the win! Rookies hwaiting!
It would be nice to see In Gee here, she always loves this event, but she would be forgiven if she took a few weeks off to celebrate and regroup.

They did some changes in the team list since this AM. All the committed singles have been removed. MHL is still on the field list at the LPGA website, but BadA$$ is not. As for the pairing list on the event website, they are up to 51 teams. I'm guessing the max will be 71 teams.

I wish that So Yeon Ryu had played and Teamed up with Sei Young Kim. Sei Young needs So Yeon's positive attitude and So Yeon needs a fun Tournament to play. I remember that they were paired at the International Crown and played great. But they lost to a Chinese pairing that played way over their heads. Which seems to have happened to So Yeon a lot.

They're up to 57 teams, including Korda 1 & 2 and Hou 1 & 2. No team yet for MHL ... isn't there someone really good in the Dallas K-mafia willing to help her out?

The press section at lpga.com has a pdf. list with all the teams, as of July 7. MHL gets Haru Nomura ... however, the dark cloud dissipates as I think more about this ... Nomura has only three starts this year, but made the cut in all three ... this might work out well.

Speaking of team golf I bet less than 10 people have wondered what happened to the UL Crown.

Speaking of team golf I bet less than 10 people have wondered what happened to the UL Crown. I've heard rumours that UL Crown will be back in 2023 - with Hanwha as sponsor The format was like driving a car backward. They were going in the right direction but doing it the wrong way. The US has to play Korea in more than one match! (The whole thing should be US vs Korea.) I haven’t heard the commish talk yet but I’d be curious what the LPGA thinks about expanding team formats in some way ala LIV. It seems the current strategy is to simply be the LPGA at a time when women's sports is making up ground.

Speaking of team golf I bet less than 10 people have wondered what happened to the UL Crown. I bet even less remember the Lexus Cup. How and why the LPGA haven't at least adopted a President's Cup style counterpart is such a miss. Although the Asia vs the World seems like the most appropriate and fair split tbh.

My field rating for this tournament is an embarrasingly low 34%, down from 62.5% last year, making it the lowest rated tournament of the year. My breakdown is 42.5% from the LPGA Priority List and 25.5% from the Rolex Rankings. Only 3 of the top ten, and 5 of the top 20 players from the Rolex Rankings are teeing it up. The field will be led by top 10 players: Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, and Jennifer Kupcho. Top Players skipping the event this week include: Jin Young Ko, Lydia Ko, Patty Tavatanakit, Inbee Park, Nasa Hataoka, Mingee Lee, Brooke Henderson, Sei Young Kim, Danielle Kang, Celine Boutier, Jeongeun Lee6, Yuka Sasso, So Yeon Ryu, Hyo Joo Kim, Ally Ewing, In Gee Chun, Anna Nordqvist, Hannah Green, Mina Haragae, Georgia Hall, Gaby Lopez, Austin Ernst, Ryann O'Toole, Amy Yang, Nanna Koertz, Madsen, Wei-Ling Hsu, Su Oh, Jenny Shin, Eun Hee Ji, Charley Hull, Chella Choi, Carlotta Ciganda, Sung Hyun Park, Brittany Lincicome, Sung Hyun Park. Hopefully I didn't leave off any previous winners.
With the LPGA off the last couple of weeks there has not been much movement in the Rolex Rankings for LPGA members. But I have to mention that since my last field rating post, before the last tournament (KPMG), there have been some big moves. In Gee Chun has soared from #33 to just outside the top 10 at #11. Lilia Vu has jumped from #80 to #59 over that period, and Mingee Lee has moved up to the #2 spot in the world, and is now in striking distance of taking over the top spot with a victory.
Other notes: Atthaya Thitikul's top ten finish at the KPMG ties her with Hye-Jin Choi for the most with seven. In Gee Chun's win was the 4th this year for the Republic of Korea, tying the USA for first place. Each has won one major. Atthaya Thitikul takes back the lead in the Rookie of the Year race with 840 points. Hye-Jin Choi has 787.
