Yewon and Ina are a great 1-2 punch; precision vs. power, and both seem far more together than 19-year-olds have a right to be.
And they're just the start of this great rookie class. Kwon, Ma, Sohn, Jeongmin Moon, Ji U Ko and Uhjin Seo all seem really good and fun to watch. That pink outfit Moon wore this week was something else. Sohn - and her swooshes and tinted sunglasses - seems like a really cool young lady. Just lovin' watching these kids invade the tour!

Ina's final hole at this event has become a viral smash in Korea. The Youtube video they posted just a little over a day ago already has more than 184K views, which is roughly five times what such a clip could expect. Her Instagram has climbed to over 10K (I think it was like 4K at the start of the week), and among the folks who complimented her there is Min Ji Park, who wasn't at the event but called her final hole 'cool'. The comments there seem to repeat the same mantra: 'Birth of a Star'; 'Im won the event, but Yoon became a star', etc. They've started calling her '2-on' because of her ability to reach a green almost no one else could. Her latest post has over 400 comments and counting: https://www.instagram.com/p/CfiyVyTPK0R She's enjoying the attention; reached for comment, she laughed and said that she finds it funny but also flattering. She commented that she tried a little too hard on the front nine, then relaxed and started playing better on the back. She had tried to reach the 18th green on Saturday but came up short, but as soon as she hit it on Sunday, she knew she was getting aboard. "I've finished 3rd and 2nd in the last 2 competitions, so will I win next?" she said, adding "I want to win so much, but I want to focus on growing day by day. I want to continue to gain a lot of experience and win if I get a chance in the process." When she was in 6th grade, she won a tournament on the course where the next KLPGA event is to be played. An omen? Another fun fact: she does power lifting as part of her training. Not a surprise. Good luck to her going forward!

She gets into the rough too often. It reminds me of the PGA tour where they just over power the course and dare the course to have longer rough.

Be careful by piling too much praise on the young Golfer, Ina Yoon. Sometimes expectation can hurt a golfer before she has earned it. She may or not be able to handle the pressure, only time will tell.

I'm just repeating what I've read; she really seems to have struck a chord in Korea with the fans.
The way I see it, every young golfer faces her own challenges, and some of them get praised more than others (and thus have more expectations to deal with). It sounds to me like she is trying to figure out what works best for her. Being on the attack all the time is not her best strategy, and she'll learn in time to use her power more judiciously. Meanwhile, she seems to be having a good time and is saying that as long as she keeps improving and learning, the wins will come sooner or later. Sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders.

Agree that it seems like she's starting to figure it out. Power and length on KLPGA isn't quite as valuable as on LPGA. Many holes on Korean courses call for precision rather than length off the tee. Lots of pretty severe doglegs, many holes have hazards running across the fairway at critical points. If she's starting to think about course management more, and if she putts as well as she did on the back nine - look out!

She did have one par-4 hole on the back nine where she hit an iron off the tee, so at least there is some evidence she isn't just grip it and rip it. But yeah, let's just say that she does spend a lot more time than she should in some very scenic areas of the course!

I would add consideration that she has had to endure the Jump Tour and Dream Tour to get here so she isn't ignorant and should have a decent head on her shoulders when it comes to the utter realities of golf regardless of what the fans think.
