Today, Pretzel stepped into Plymouth Rock, circa 1620.

GC has extremely limited on-course reporting resources, so why is Foltzy still watching Major League Minjee throttle Baby Dumbo? He should not have been with this match at all ... meanwhile, they haven't shown one shot of The EMP leading DK, +1 thru three holes.

Baby Dumbo hit a bunker shot that rolled back into her lie ... Foltzy is going to swirl down the john with this match, no matter what.
******
From the USWO exemption criteria list ... what does "full point allocation" mean?
11. Winners of individual LPGA co-sponsored events, whose victories are considered official, from the conclusion of the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open Championship to the initiation of the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open Championship. Only events that award a full point allocation for the Race to the CME Globe are considered.

DK must be spewing verbal s*** at Manbun by now ... trails The EMP, 3-down after six holes ... still haven't seen them.
*****
They just said spectators are there ONLY by invitation ... yeah, who would want to pay for heat stroke?

Foltzy transferred over to the Sagstrom/Valenzuela match, which is Even thru 13 holes.
******
Assuming the payout methodology is the same as last year, a tie versus a loss DOES matter for players who don't reach the final 16 ... Cheyenne Knight was the only three-time loser last year and received the least amount of prize money.
******
They haven't shown DK once, but I can't blame GC since she is getting murdered ... a dozen Advils aren't enough, I guess. Is she seriously injured? I wouldn't be surprised if she goes WD later on.

According to Grant Boone, KT had never played a match-play event in her life until today. She beat DK 7&6, the most decisive win of the day (so far). Kang is obviously hurting, but she didn't blow up any holes. And the EMP had several birdies that would have made her competitive with any opponent today. If DK withdraws, she'll have handed the other Group 4 members a huge break...I assume they'll get automatic byes.

The Koreans on the LPGA should visit the KLPGA to learn how to compete in Match Play. This is Hye Jin Choi first year so she isn't corrupted by the LPGA Korean's Match Play folding. Example losing a par five to a bogey or falling back into a tie on the last hole with a bogey. So Yeon lost big, so she didn't have a chance to give it away late.

Danielle looked spiffy today, like a KLPGA pro.

DK is soldiering on... www.golfchannel.com/news/after-day-1-loss-boh-match-play-danielle-kang-back-not-ready-play"It's match play, I mean, it's Shadow Creek, my home course," she said. I feel like I come here — this is where I practice, so there is no reason not to play I guess for me."
Although Wednesday didn't go as Kang hoped, she will give it another go-around Thursday. But this won't be an overnight fix.
"It's going to take some patience and time for everybody," she said. "I just need to thank my team for getting me here. It's a little win that I have to take right now."

Yeesh... Not too good...
It's looking like we'll be lucky to get two Sisters into the match play portion. What's up with A Lim losing on a par 5? She should have reached the green in one with her length... Hyo Joo also went belly up, Six tied a player she should have owned, So Yeon struggling as she has lately...
Hye-Jin had a nice win; hopefully she can keep it up. Kudos to Jenny Shin and Eun Hee for the other two wins. Six got lucky that everyone in her bracket tied today, so it was a wash. She needs to sweep the other two now. No excuses jeans!
Hwaiting!

Just saw the lead AP headline for this event which was "EWART SHADOFF TOPS DEFENDING CHAMPION EWING". As if anyone in the English speaking world knows or cares about either of these people. Women's golf in the west has had its moment in the sun, thanks to Michelle Wie coming along at just the right time to hop on the wave of Tigermania. But that moment is over.

Everyone in A Lim's bracket also tied. Weird that that happened twice yesterday!

The EMP knocks Pajaree Anannarukarn out of the competion. It all comes down to her match tomorrow with Eun-Hee Ji.
More proof that watching this event during the first two days is a waste of time ... and I'm rooting for The EMP, too. BTW, good job by Nichols identifying the 19 players who could win their way into the USWO next week:
There 19 players in Las Vegas who have yet to qualify but can secure their spot with a win Sunday: Albane Valenzuela, Emma Talley, Kelly Tan, Esther Henseleit, Ashleigh Buhai, Chella Choi, Youngin Chun, Wei-Ling Hsu, Lauren Stephenson, Aditi Ashok, Su Oh, Elizabeth Szokol, Jodi Ewart Shadoff, Sarah Schmelzel, Haeji Kang, Perrine Delacour, Jenny Shin, Jasmine Suwannapura and former USWO champ Eun-Hee Ji.
Great job by the overlooked LV resident JTibs, who kayoed a pair of major winners this week ... only needs a tie tomorrow against Haeji Kang to win her group. Shin is the player GC needs to cover tomorrow, but don't hold your breath ... she's not one of the GC pets. I think it's a lock that they'll show Olson vs. Chan, which will be a group decider ... or maybe they'll assign Foltzy to that super Q-rating group decider with Reto against Szokol. Cyborg has already clinched her group ... I suppose she's not allowed to sleep in tomorrow.
I'll bet TV Wowow will have a dedicated camera on Furue vs. Ciganda all the way.

Round 2
Jenny Shin, Eun Hee Ji and Hye Jin Choi are in a good position to advance; they just need ties or better to clinch. And even with a loss, they would still go into a playoff. Hyo Joo and A Lim could still get in with some luck. So could Six, but she needs a win and a whole lotta luck.
If Haeji beats Jenny today, they will both be in a playoff; if additionally, Hannah Green beats Popov, she would also be in the playoff. But if Jenny wins or ties, she advances.
Sisters hwaiting!!!
