This one is big money for only three days work starting Friday ... the field is 108 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut. Sayaka Takahashi dropped her name from next Monday's USWO qualifier list in England and will play this event. She doesn't have to qualify anymore after improving her Rolex ranking to #67 ... shouldn't have any difficulty staying in the Rolex top-75 after this tournament. Other players ranked between #70 and #80 include Sakura Koiwai (70), JY Shin (71), SW Bae (72), Kotone Hori (73), Minami Katsu (74) and Ai Suzuki (80).

I know it's common in Japan to plop a tree right in the middle of a fairway, but I didn't know they did it on par-3 holes, too. (beginning of video below). This is the tournament where you can look down on the par-3 12th green from your apartment balcony (0:41) -

Yui Kawamoto shot thirty three on the front nine for minus six. She was in the top ten and could have had her best Tournament of the year. However another one of her bad finishes, bogey, double bogey, par bogey birdie.
Kotone had an ok Tournament, 71, 71, 72

That putt to win on the 2nd extra hole was gorgeous - and must have been 30ft or so!
