What a sh!t show on the coverage. After being bounced from GC to CBS to CNBC, the LPGA finally found a sport that they could bounce: Women's College Rugby. It's a good thing CNBC wasn't airing Men's College Rugby or the LPGA would have ended up on QVC. T-22 for the EMP and TV coverage of her eagle on 12...woohoo! https://www.instagram.com/p/CdmYwBzL_AM

Gah, I can't believe it, Thitikul did it again! Another mediocre event and a ridiculously low final round to secure a top ten. I hope Hye Jin can beat her, they're tied at the moment with one hole to go for Hye Jin. I'll phrase it as, wow she's done it again. Atthaya shows what she's capable of when she puts everything together in a round for another great finish. Pressure seems to be a culprit right now, but her week by week consistency is great! Congrats too Minjee! Also happy to see Jenny Shin do well. Happy Na Yeon made the cut. Still keeping my heart open for NYC and Inky to have a Candie Kung like resurgence out of the blue one of these days. I am an optimist though, I still look for Angela Park's name during Q school every year.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CdmDBoqhWMH Congratulation to Minjee Lee for her win on the par five Founders Cup. She made it harder than it should have been, however she got the job done back nine. Hye Jin Choi continues to shine, only to be out shined by the great play of Atthaya Thitikul so far,

It might not be impossible for Minjee and Minwoo to both be world #1.

I kind of scan through three Sport sections. The only articles I saw was Lexi Thompson complain about a Migraine. Which would have been a non subject if she had won. Oh yeah Angel Yin third place finish and the Amateur Davis. No where to be found was there anything to be found about Minjee win. Also Marina Alex last week win.
That why Seoul sister Forum is so important if you want to know about Asian Golfers .

Congrats to Minjee! I like her (certainly a lot more than Thompson), but she seems to get better treatment from the American press and Golf Channel than the Koreans do, so as a result I tend not to root for her as much as I do the hometown Sisters. She and Lydia just don't need the boosts as much.
Another really strong week from Hye Jin. She didn't gain any on Thitikul, but I feel she is doing pretty well considering she has nowhere near the experience of playing in the West and dealing with the travel as the Thai does. I get the feeling Hye-Jin is due for some really great results in the next couple of months, including hopefully a win or two. Fingers crossed!
In Gee got to 10 under then bogied three of her final four holes. Argh. Wouldn't have had a top ten but would have been close. Jin Young was under the weird impression that this was a hard course, and I think it affected her ability to convert birdies all week. Not a terrible result, but let's get these bad results out of the way now and save the good stuff for the Majors. She REALLY needs to have a great Major her next time out; her past two were terrible, she skipped the one before that, and she was not much of a factor in the others in 2021. Enough is enough. She is way too talented not to be in the hunt for the big ones.
Sisters Hwaiting!

KLPGA Min Ji moved up 7 to 20th in the world rankings. LPGA Minjee swapped with Thitikul. In Gee fell to 31. Hye Jin continued her agonizingly slow crawl up the rankings, gaining just 1 to move to 42. I have a feeling she could win a Major and only gain 3 spots.
Yewon Lee was 350th in the world in mid-April. After this week she moved +26 to 158th. In just a month she has rocketed up nearly 200 spots. Go get 'em. kid!

My octogenarian dad can never remember the name of the "tall blonde from Florida", but he knows "Minjee, Minjee, Minjee" ... a Google-mush line from Mitsuki Katahira's article:
The English pronunciation also sounds attractive in the United States with Australian accents.

Local newspapers will cover the LPGA when it visits NJ, but the statewide rag normally couldn't care less. I'll bet the Star-Ledger hasn't sent anyone to cover the Shoprite/Acer in the last ten years. However, I'll give credit to them for posting a Marina Alex article on the Page One on May 13 ... and they let Minjee be the sports lead on May 16 (wire service article and pics, however). I posted scans of both, along with front/back cover of the spectator guide. The New Ko was going for a hat trick, but they put Korda Two on the cover ... Michelle Wie made the back cover ad.
