This two trophy major begins Thursday for a field of 120 (top-60 plus ties make the cut). The field list has only 119 names ... I don't know who they will add ... in the good old days, this event always had at least one blonde LPGAer. A max of 8,000 humanoids will be permitted on the premises each day.

I am glad that Yui Kawamoto is in the field. She needs to contend in these Majors before the mid-year change.

Copying the KLPGA with a group shot like this, but they forgot to include the trophies in front ... clockwise from top-left: The Shinster, Minami Katsu, Serena Aoki, Yuri Yoshida, Momoko Osato and Erika Hara.

What's the story with Mao? Surely these four wins are as unexpected as Minji Park's explosion last year on KLPGA, right? Her third year on JLPGA? Looks like she had a bunch of top 10s last year, but no wins. Was she pegged as a top star at the beginning of the year?

What's the story with Mao?
She missed eight greens and took thirty-five putts ... shot 79 (+7), T-104 ... nice jinx. She's in a few rogue videos on YT.

Eight Head was supposed to be in the field, but I think she was kept out by travel regs after playing in ROK last week ... the Google mush is unclear.

Yui Kawamoto is inside the cut line at plus two. Not much changed how she plays, bogey on nine and eighteen. She must have a phobia about finishing nines, also bogeys par fives too much.
Kotone Hori at plus five needs to go low to avoid an early exit again.

Really good even par round for Yui Kawamoto. She made double on one par five however made birdie on two others. She made par on nine and eighteen which is a lot better than making bogeys.
I guess Kotone Hori didn't need to go really low to make the cut. The three birdies and one bogey was a lot better than the all over the place +5.
I almost forgot about Sakura Yokomine who followed first round -2 with 80. With all the great players out there now, I don't think she will get thirty wins.
Speaking of thirty wins, Living Legend Yuri Fudoh made the cut

Terrible weather today, really pouring down rain at some points. Greens must be soft, but this Ibaraki West Course is long, listed at 7,107...surely they're playing it shorter. Cut line of +6 indicates something is tough about it. Only top 10 are below par, on Sat about halfway through the round. Yamashita maintaining her 3 shot lead...
Go Miyuki! looking good in pink today.
Erika, what's that R2 Pearly Gates outfit?! JLPGA styles are amazing/crazy/wonderful.

I slept through my alarm, but still managed to see some of Round Three, but what's to see? Nothing anymore ... as Marv Albert used to say during an NBA game, it is already "Gar-BAGE" (second syllable pronounced with phony French accent) time.

Kotone Hori keep moving up the Leaderboard with minus three, After first round plus five she is even par tied for twelfth place.
Yui Kawamoto tied for twenty eight, has a chance for her best 2022 round. She really need to come out focused and move up.
