Texas A&M made it to the match play finals for the first time in its history, which prompted me to think that coach Andrea Gaston's unexpected departure from Southern Cal to A&M four years ago finally paid off ... WRONG!!!
I looked it up ... on 4/20/21 the AD issued this statement:
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Director of Athletics Ross Bjork announced Tuesday that Andrea Gaston will not return as the women's golf head coach. "After a careful analysis of our women's golf program, we determined that new leadership was necessary in order to achieve the desired results for Texas A&M golf," Bjork said. "We wish Coach Gaston all the best, and a national search for a new head coach will begin immediately." This season, the Aggies finished 11th at the SEC Championship, which was the best finish under Gaston at SECs.
The new coach is Gerrod Chadwell (aka Mr. Stacy Lewis).
The Aggies face Florida St. in the opening round ... the Seminoles will field two players from the upcoming Curtis Cup GB&I team, so they may have a few tricks up their sleeves.

"Gerrod Chadwell" sounds like the evil preppie in a John Hughes movie.

The USC Trojans had a bad back nine that eliminated them. They had to replace some really good players, that turned Professional.

I am not sure if all ties go to playoffs. All necessary matches surely go to a playoff. If a team has won 3 matches, it's pointless to go to playoffs in the other two matches in which case a team could win 3-0-2.

Golfstat is live scoring. Anyone watching the results? I don't care to vpn into the usa for any not-really-global golf channel coverage.

A&M is not winning against Oregon, but what a freaking legend moment.
16th par 3 tee box. Must win the hole to extend the match for one more hole.
.@aggiewomensgolf's Blanca Fernandez Garcia-Poggio was three down standing on the par-3 16th and just aced the damn thing to extend her match with Oregon's Ching-Tzu Chen! Match play!!!
What a moment that must have been!!
A few moments later she lost the 17th hole to lose the match 2&1. Still crazy timing for an ace.

Since this format was introduced, stroke play followed by match play, around 2015, no number one seed has won it. #1 Stanford vs #2 Oregon

Stanford is having fun and dominating Oregon. Won't be long now.
Oregon needs a miracle.

It's getting stressful and tight. Large leads are very small now.
Oregon has a shot at this. There's some hope.
