Kicks off Friday for a field of 108 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut. A large pic of Shibuno Fever is shamelessly on the tournament poster ... needless to say, she is NOT here. A max of 5,000 humans will be allowed on the premises per day.
Regular TV sked ... let's see if NTV will fool me again this week:
Round One:

Chairwoman Mao was a DNS (neck pain) and Maiko Wakabayashi dropped out early in the week (The Bug).

Only 25 minutes in this rogue video of the tricked out #1st hole (par 4, 372 yards) ... yes, I remember this one ... a long driver is rewarded with a her ball on a downslope in a patch of rough that separates two sections of the fairway. However, the rough isn't that penal ... you'll see SW Bae stiff her approach out of that stuff. I'm surprised Bae is grouped with two players who are not A-listers ... that could change quite soon ... she is now -2 thru nine holes, one shot off the lead ... she is WAY overdue to win again.
SW Bae and Reika Usui (who should never cover her face)

I just knew those two NTV News 24 streams would not have the golf again ... and I was right. But, that got me out of bed for the KLPGA, so it worked out okay.

Kotone Hori had four birdies, but three bogeys. She is making more bogeys than usual the last two rounds. She only missed four greens and had thirty one putts.
Yui Kawamoto only hit six Fairways and ten greens. She had a couple of sixes, which she has made too many lately. She works hard on her game, so maybe she will improve doing the year.

Another decent round of seventy two for Kotone Hori three birdies, two bogeys. Only two out of the top ten and three out of the top five.
Another plus two for Yui Kawamoto and another missed cut. Only two bogeys but no birdies. She had twenty six puts, but only hit seven greens.

The edited broadcast showed only the last hole of the playoff, which ran for six holes (played par-5 18th over and over). This rogue video is running live now, which appears to be the broadcast I watched as it skipped to the 6th playoff hole:
Meanwhile, a Nozomi Uetake fanboy posted this mushy 96-second video showing her gag at last year's Sumitono event, followed by her rolling in the winning putt this week:
POS PLAYER SCORE 1R 2R 3R TOTAL PRIZE 1 Nozomi Uetake -8 68 69 71 208 ¥18,000,000 2T Yuri Yoshida -8 69 71 68 208 ¥7,333,333 2T Sae Ogura -8 69 70 69 208 ¥7,333,333 2T Yuna Nishimura -8 67 69 72 208 ¥7,333,333 5 Sakura Koiwai -7 70 71 68 209 ¥5,000,000 6 Saiki Fujita -6 71 72 67 210 ¥4,000,000 7 Ayaka Watanabe -5 71 68 72 211 ¥3,500,000 8T Kotone Hori -4 71 71 70 212 ¥2,500,000 8T Shina Kanazawa -4 71 70 71 212 ¥2,500,000 8T Ai Suzuki -4 66 73 73 212 ¥2,500,000 11T Nana Suganuma -3 69 74 70 213 ¥1,810,000 11T Rio Takeda -3 69 74 70 213 ¥1,810,000 11T Eri Fukuyama -3 68 74 71 213 ¥1,810,000
First win on the big tour
The winner with low am Rin Yoshida ... it would have been a better pic with Yoshida One and Yoshida Two.
This sequence killed Yoshida One ... her third shot on the 6th playoff hole was almost pin-high (don't know the club or yardage), but the ball hit the green like a marble and took off into the collar ... made an excellent chip and saved par, but Uetake made birdie.
Can't recall see this before ... color-coordinated club face and grip ... or is the sun reflecting off her skirt?
