Begins Friday for a field of 108 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut ... a max of 5,000 spectators per day. I assume The Shinster is injured ... not in the field and hasn't played since the opener in Okinawa.

Yui reeled off five birdies on her first nine holes of Friday ... but she's only two-under. She took the shutterbugs by surprise ... I don't think any are following her as I haven't seen a pic of her from a couple of sources that do frequent updates.
*******
Ji Hee Lee making her first JLPGA start of 2022 ... one-under after nine holes.

Well Yui Kawamoto made it in giving five of her six birdies back. Anyway she has a good chance to make the cut.

Those NTV News-24 links did NOT have the golf. But, a few rogue YT videos have survived the evening.

Yui Kawamoto had a better round today, an Eagle two birdies one bogey. She is tied for seventh place so far.
Kotone had four birdies but three bogeys. Still a good day tomorrow should keep her good play going.

Sample video of 1st hole (par-5, 480 yards), which would be a good AON Risk/Reward hole for this tour ... includes Yuri Yoshida, Pei Ying Tsai, Mika Miyazato, and Chairwoman Mao:

The cut was +1 and 59 players made it.

I predict that Ai will not win unless she changes her name to Momoko.

I'm in blackout mode until 3 AM EST, but I came across this interesting pic from Round Three ... amateur Se Ri Seri Yuasa with coach/looper Sho Aoki. Mr. Aoki is best-known for being Shibuno Fever's coach in 2019, but didn't they part ways around last year? I can't remember.

Tough round for Kotone Hori, she did start out with birdies on the first four holes. However after that she had three straight bogeys on the front nine. She made birdie on ten but finished double, par, bogey, bogey.
Yui Kawamoto had three sixes on the front nine. Two on par fives and of course a double on nine. Made a birdie on twelve but just made a bogey on fifteen. Done for the night.

The broadcast started with Momoko Ueda rolling in a birdie putt at #13 to take a two-shot lead ... about eight minutes later, the NTV stream froze and died. ... so I went back to the KLPGA stream, which had a better finish.
This video has the last four groups playing the 1st hole ... the entire Binder showed up to watch Yui at 4:39 -

That's #17 in Japan for Momoko Ueda ... also where ANA will get more bang for its buck.
w/ low am Konoha Okada (+2)
The low round of Sunday (68) award went to Erika Kikuchi (-3)

Yui (+2)
Always a fashion statement ... and finished at +2.
Karen Gondo had a profitable first start on Japan's big tour this season ... her swing isn't bad, don't know why she has had trouble maintaining her card.
Na Ri Lee (+2)
Satsuki Oshiro (+3) ... FYI, 90 is the new 80 ... you'll be playing The Invisible Man for the next 58 years.

Congratulation to Momoko Ueda, a true Professional.
Yui Kawamoto finished the round birdie, birdie. But before that she had a bogey and quadruple bogey. I wish that the JLPGA would let their Tournament be broadcasted. To see what Yui weaknesses are!
