I'm looking forward to some tussles between these two! Scorecard claims that Ina hit a 353-yard drive on the par-5 4th. Not buying that, but if the ball position is correct as depicted in the pic, she was way down there and had only 190 yards left on this 545 yard hole. I also see Yewon Lee as credited with a 313 yard drive on the first hole. I'm curious about Lee and Ina Yoon because I've been hearing they are long, but it's been purely anecdotal so far, since the Dream Tour does not keep track of driving stats.
Ye Been Sohn had a 289 yard drive on hole 1. Sounds like she might have some fire power, too.

Good first round for Mighty Mite Seung Yeon Lee with eighteen pars. Good recovery from her foot injury.
I only watched about an hour and a half of the round. Ina Yoon and Yee Won Lee both hit their drives on number one in the hazard. Yee Won Lee made bogey and Ina Yoon made double. Yee Won Lee recovered to finish minus two and Ina Yoon plus ten. So if Ina is going to compete with Yee Won, she needs to play better than that.
Ok! I am jumping on the Yee Won Lee bandwagon early.
Good start for So Mi Lee also. She putts like the other Lee Minjee. They both misses a lot of short putts, but can get on a roll and make a lot.

Another good round for Mighty Mite Seung Yeon Lee four birdies two bogeys.
A shout out to Ana Yoon she made four bogeys on her front side. She didn't give up, she made five birdies on the back nine.
I will only watch the early groups.

What is the average driving distance in the KLPGA verses LPGA?
I have looked at driving distance of some of the players. Many of them are about 235ish. A couple are in the 245ish area. Rarely see 255ish.

Rarely see 255ish. In 2021, Seung Yeon Lee led the tour in driving average at 250.97 yds. The median driving average was 235.52 yds. The English version of the web page doesn't show units, but the Korean version displays '(Yard)' in the column header. www.klpga.co.kr/web/record/tech.do?p_year=2021&p_kind=RE&type=T2In 2016, Sung Hyun Park led the tour with an average of 265.59. In 2019, A Lim Kim was the leader at 262.53. Last year on the LPGA she averaged 272.84.

That course is really playing tough.
Mighty Mite Seung Yeon Lee had an eight on tough par four hole number three. She bounced back a little with four birdies and two bogeys.
Gyeol Park had an Eagle from the fairway on par five nine and par four eleven. They didn't show either one in the Highlights.
I figured that it would be a tough day for young Yewon Lee. She hit her third shot on par five four in the hazard and made double. Par fives wasn't good to her because she made a triple on par five fifteen.

I've seen Yewon play three KLPGA events so far, and her pattern has been the same: she starts well (sometimes even leads), but in the third or fourth round she really struggles. It's a learning process. My guess is she's getting ahead of herself and starting to think about her victory speech, but she needs to stay focused until the final putt drops.
Not really in love with this leaderboard, but it's been ages since Gyeol Park had a good round, so I hope she can close this out with a solid Sunday. Eun Soo Jang and So Hye Park could have great starts to their tour comebacks, too.

Min Song Ha missed the 6th green to the left by a mile ... she better leave that shot at home before going to Hawaii. I think she knocked off a few pounds.
********
They did a virtual flyover of the 6th hole, which has little rocky outcroppings just off the fairway on both sides. I don't know if they were put there or if it's natural, but it's nice to see a KLPGA course breaking out of the same-old same-old routine.
*********
It would be cool if the pride of Hampyeong Golf High School, Su Yeon Jang, found a way to pull this out ... just birdied #7 and trails by two. Then she can play in Hawaii next year. Meanwhile, So Mi Lee is striping it everywhere ... she'll probably be a repeat winner here.
*********
I was watching The Hulk's driver swing in Round One and thought her backswing looked quite short ... or much shorter than what I thought it was. My recollection was correct:
2015 KPMG LPGA - Hey, I was there at Westchester CC for day, but didn't watch her play, just saw her practice putting. Not only is her backswing past parallel, but it crossed the line at the top. It certainly did NOT hurt her game on the LPGA.
2021 BMW Ladies Championship - Backswing does NOT reach parallel and NEVER crosses the line ... the shaft in right in line with her target line. I assume she was looking for more control to make such changes ... but, missing fairways to the right was that one loose shot that showed up every once in a while last year.
