JYK might have a bible in her back pocket instead of a yardage book. Looks like a trapper keeper.

Jin Young Ko put herself only three out of the lead with four birdies an eagle, two bogeys She missed a makeable birdie on eighteen, but her overall putting were great.
Two players that game has been off Sei Young Kim and Sung Hyun Park minus three and two.
Eun-Hee Ji and So Mi Lee had minus three also. So Mi Lee only missed three greens again. However this time she had thirty putts instead of thirty five.
Tough two days for So Yeon Ryu to miss her first ever US Women Open cut. As a matter of fact she has never been higher than top twenty five in Opens. She also had one win before and four other top fives since she joined the Tour 2012. She has only missed three cuts in all the Majors on the LPGA Tour.

Round 2 Fabulous day for the Sisters! In the morning, Hyejin Choi threatened to burn the place down. She ended up with a 64, and that was almost a letdown, because she had a 62 in view. Absolutely brilliant, though, and she'll go into the weekend in the penultimate group (yes, Thitikul made the cut, which means she'll shoot a fantastic final round and get a top ten again). In the afternoon it was Jin Young's turn. She played solidly most of the day, but still seemed to be missing that magic. She missed a few short birdies, but then, lo and behold, hit a massive bomb for birdie, then followed that up with an eagle. Just like that she vaulted to 6 under, and has the leaders not far ahead. Her 67 was her career best score at a US Women's Open. Shout out to Minjee Lee for a great 66 to put her in a tie for the lead, and Sei Young with a 68 and Sung Hyun a 69 to get into the top ten. Eun Hee must be tired? But she still shot a 69 and is t-14th. And great to see So Mi bounce back from her weak start with her own 68. Just outside the top 20. In Gee made the cut on the number, but Hyo Joo and So Yeon did not. Let's go, Sisters!!!! Hwaiting!!!

I like Minji and Ko well enough, but I'd prefer Ingrid win this. LOL.
I just saw the 3rd round groups. Ko with Ingrid. What an awesome experience for Ingrid.

Watching the early featured group coverage of DK & GK on the USGA TV app.
I'm not a big Trip Eisenhower fan but, unlike the regular coverage, he's not afraid of dead air and lets the ambient sound breathe...no need to fill up every second with inane banter.
He is, however, fascinated with Manbun: "Is there any other male caddy on any tour that keeps his player's tees in his hair?"

In Gee finished her third round already, shot a 69: two birdies, no bogies. She's moved up a bit, currently T-32nd. Nice to see her put a good round together!

Round 3 For the first time in a while, it felt like Jin Young was being tentative today. Especially with her putting. I've seen her miss putts, but usually she is firm and hits with conviction. It felt like she dinked a lot of putts today, to the point where I was yelling at her to hit the darn thing harder. But in a way, this might be just what she needs. She has nothing to lose; she should go out there tomorrow on a mission to hunt down Minjee. It would be supreme irony for Minjee to lose to a player seven back of her, considering that's exactly what she did when she came back against Six at the Evian. And boy is Jin Young overdue a great round in a Major. Hye Jin nearly completely blew it today (Sei Young and Sung Hyun did fall apart, alas). But she fought back to 6 under and has a great chance for a runner-up and outside chance for a win. So Mi shot a tidy 69 to move to 15th, while In Gee also had a 69 and is now in 24th. Eun Hee hasn't fallen apart yet, and though a win seems unlikely, a top ten is doable. That would be amazing considering how many rounds of golf she's played the past two weeks. It does seem like this event is in Minjee's hands. But this isn't ambushing a player for a Major win like Evian, where no pressure was on her at all; now she has to do it while sleeping on the lead. Let's see what she can do. I won't feel bad if she pulls it off, but I'd much rather see Choi or Jin Young do it. Sisters hwaiting!!!

Now's a good time as any to come clean about my Minjee fandom. I have a massive creepy crush on her. She is the bee's knees. Yet somehow I never really care about her golf. Jin Young is my golfing idol, the one I most enjoy watching play, and win. Whenever Jin Young comes up short of a win I get probably as mad as Happyfan does. Somehow Minjee's wins (or losses) have no effect on me emotionally. Not sure why! Objectively though, it's hard not to notice that she is elevating her game lately. She is an eventual hall of famer I would bet.

Mike Whan gets to the USGA, and suddenly the US Women's Open has wide open fairways and low scoring? Hmmm... We'll know how much effect he had if we see a drivable par 4 Sunday... Sisters hwaiting!

Dr. Nope is wearing her Sunday Tiger Best: red shirt, black pants...and red socks! She must have read the WSJ article about finding a new female American superstar.
Unfortunately she's +2 thru 10, + 9 for the event so far.
The USGA TV app is pretty good. You can toggle between full-screen video and video with a scrollable leaderboard along the right side, and individal hole-by-hole scores for every player along the bottom. Easy to navigate with a TV remote.
This would be great to have on the LPGA every week, but it's a big ask for their unpaid intern.

I’d need a complete overhaul of my life before I dared to have a TV crush on Minjee and she’d still be like “ya, no.” And I agree she’s the muni bond of golf. It’s not a roller coaster.
