A Lim missed a lot of putts in the one round we saw a lot of her. She's all right on the greens, but I feel like, if she's going to become a real star out here, THAT'S where she needs to work. Tee-to-green, she is awesome.
I forgot about Six's lay up. I wonder if she still wasn't taking Jin Young seriously on 16, especially since Ko had just put her tee shot into the bunker. Maybe Six was being conservative, thinking she would get the birdie and stay ahead of Titikul, In Gee and Ko (who looked like she had a par or worse coming). That's why Jin Young is so intimidating. Her rivals are expecting a par or bogey and she suddenly drops a 40 footer, or makes a great approach from far back. What she might do is as scary as what she does do, and you wind up hitting a bad bunker shot in reaction.
By the way, did anyone really think she wouldn't hit that final birdie putt? I knew it was going in the second after it landed there off her iron. That's intimidation.

Six has got to work on her nerves going down the stretch.
Jin Young - Nerves? What nerves?
In Gee will win a tournament this year.

Six can wear the extra long bill on her cap. The others can't pull it off.

So what will the GIC do to minimize Jin Young's success this week? Here's an interesting (and quite lame) round table from the 'experts' at Golf Magazine on Jin Young's success. They were asked how many events Jin Young might win in 2022. Golf weekend roundupHF: "Been there, done that. Yawwwwn." Yep, I remember when they said the exact same thing about Ochoa and Annika. I mean, talk about a TERRIBLE take, this might be the stupidest thing I've read in some time. Of course it won't last forever, you idiot. But doesn't 6 of 10 merit more than a dismissive wave of the hand? HF: Yawn, a flash in the pan. It is what it is. No need to speculate about the future, except that's exactly what you were asked to do, you overpaid tool! And if it were some PGA halfwit, it's exactly what you would do. At length. HF: But what is it that we are we appreciating? 'Almost never misses a green/makes a bogey'. Yeah, players like that, every year there's another one just like it. OK, you win the stupid sweepstakes. And naturally he had to drop Nelly in there, too. HF: When it's an American doing well, they want a dominant player; that's 'good for the sport'. When it's a Korean, a rivalry is good for the sport. Nothing new here. Summary: are these guys high? Ko just broke two of Annika's all-time records, she's won 6 of 10, and not a single one of them ginned up even the slightest amount of excitement, awe or respect for what she did. Even if it's the last thing she ever does, it's still AMAZING. 'It is what it is'. Hoo boy. Meanwhile, that idiot on the PGA just won two of three events, and they're treating him like the next big superstar. Ooh, but his other finish was a top ten! Well, it is what it is, won't last, right?

All of those GIC guys have about 1% of their tweets or articles about women’s golf. I’ve thought about keeping track.

It's just mind-boggling the more I think of it. "She never misses a green or makes a bogey. She gets into contention every week. She closes like a Boss and gets wins in bunches. It is what it is". WTAF? Aren't those things the textbook definition of golf greatness? What pray tell does she have to do before she gets credit? If she shoots a 57, well, "it is what it is"? Not like she'll do that again. "Tiger never misses a green or makes a bogey. Yeah, but will that be the case in five years? Won't last!" [EDIT]: I missed this before: 'It has happened and best to enjoy it for what it is rather than worry about what might be coming'. Worry? That's an... odd choice of word. Why should we 'worry' about a great golfer playing great? Unless you don't want this particular golfer to play great, of course...

And this - not long courses with no driveable par 4s - is more of a reason the LPGA struggles to attract fans. These bozos obviously know and care little about the women's game. Wonder how many players they could name?

Wonder how many players they could name? Nobody watches because it’s dry as toast. They are idiots for not having the Solheim every year or something like it vs Korea etc. ULCrown ain’t it either.

Up-close and personal with JYK at the HSBC.
Jin Young is the Anti-Diva. From the brief airplane shot, it looks like she's flying coach.
