My Field rating for this event is a very solid 66.5% (down slightly from last year's 67.5%). It could change slightly as two sponsor invitees have not yet been named. This is a high rating considering it loses points because the field is limited to just 64 players, and most players on the bottom half of both lists do not qualify. My breakdown is 73% from the LPGA Priority List and 60% from the Rolex Rankings
Twenty of the top 25 players from the LPGA Priority List and 18 of the top 25 players from the Rolex Rankings will be in attendance.
Players not teeing it up this week include: Nelly Korda Lexi Thompson Jessica Korda Ally Ewing Anna Nordqvist Georgia Hall Austin Ernst Ryann O'Toole Sophie Popov Hee Young Park
There weren't many big jumps in the Rolex Rankings: The most important move was Leona Maguire leaping from No. 37 to N0. 20 Other smaller moves include: Stacy Lewis 51-43 Xi Yu Lin 59-52 Marina Alex 67-61 Brittany Altomare 70-64 Lauren Stephenson 95-89
Sarah Shmelzel came roaring into the top 100 moving from 132-96, while Jasmine Suwannapura moved back into my field rating 101-100
On the downside: Ariya Jutanugarn dropped out of the top 25 for the first time in quite awhile, dropping from 25-29. Ga Young Lee and Esther Henseleit dropped out of the top 100 and out of my field ratings.

Someone must have dropped out because Min Lee is now in at #66 ... Gimmee is the new 1st reserve. EK Pedersen picked up an invitee spot ... there is still one spot open.
*******
Just for laughs, I clicked on the 'tickets' button ... the Gary Player and Wayne Player variants still have the locals hiding under their beds ... NO tickets will be sold. It says you can watch the action LIVE on 'Hub Sports' ... don't know what that is, probably geo-blocked.
*******
In other news ...
* - Honda ... still has 11 open spots ... first three alternates are J. Song, Molinaro and Valenzuela.
* - Snail-like progress is being made in Japan ... the JLPGA season opener in Okinawa will pre-sell a max of 3,000 tickets per day, an improvement over 1,000 per day last year.

Yes, very annoying they won't be allowing fans here in Singapore. Practically the whole country is vaxxed, but the nanny government isn't easing restrictions much at all yet. I'm not even sure what Hub Sports is, but think it's probably something from Starhub, one of the telecoms (not mine).

I am just glad that the Golfers will have a Tournament to play. I am sure that they think that they are doing what's best for their Citizens.

Now there are robot factories in the Coachella Valley, North San Diego County and eastern Ventura County. You don't have to practice in freezing, barren warehouses anymore. Boy these Korean instructors & associated hucksters are smart people. More power to them and the young students.

Caddie list is out ... Cheyenne Knight was not good enough to play here, but Cheeseburger Chad will get an upgrade this week with Wei Ling Hsu, who makes her first appearance of 2022. I assume Winbee gave Beecher the week off and nothing more. Jesus Mozo will get off welfare this week ... and go right back on it as his player is Angel Yin.

In other news, Fassi will slum the Epson Tour on March 17-20 in Mesa, AZ.

None of the players are talking about that SOB Putin. They're keeping their options open. I heard he's getting advice from "His Excellency" in Saudia Arabia on how to rehabilitate his image. Sure, Putin's a dictator whio poisons his enemies, but look at the purses! Unfortunately, they're all in rubles.

You are an old GOOFBALL ... no one in this event has a dog in that fight.
I don't know her opinions, but I hope this equation is an accurate assessment:

Jin Young is "still a little worried" about her wrist. Fingers crossed that she won't have too many problems with it! Jin Young Ko's season debutlinkI would be astounded if she makes it through rd 1 18/18 GIR, but I hope she can extend her record a little more. Remember: her 63 straight GIR record only ended because the season ended. It's still in progress! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cak_rXgLDnQ Good luck, Jin Young! Hwaiting!
