Just remembered ... in 2014, The Old Ko was assigned to DK as her "baby sis" as a way looking after and showing the ropes to the rookie. I'd be surprised if GC doesn't mention this tomorrow (if I know it, they should know it!). I also recall a goofball Twitter post they made ... like a two-girl slumber party ... can't remember the details, but someone should try to find it.

They need an LPGA TV battle. Kang AND Ko vs the Korda Sisters would get it done.

Round 3
Tough day today! Lydia seems to be hanging on because based on the stats, it looks like short game is the challenging aspect right now, and Lydia is a short game Queen. Makes it likely she'll win, but remember that she has thrown certain wins away in the past (like the Farr, remember that?) so who knows?
Interesting pairing betwixt Hye Jin and Furue. I hope they get some attention tomorrow, and it's not just Furue but both that get covered. This is a good start for Hye Jin; I'm hoping she can surge to a top five, it will help her get into the ANA and HSBC fields.
In Gee is holding it together, too. Go low, Dumbo!
So Nelly shot a 76 and is in 23rd place. Is it possible she could lose the #1 ranking this week? Seems unlikely, but let's keep an eye on that.
Hwaiting!

That KangKo YouTube ID has only three videos ... I'll bet they did many more vids on Twitter ... good luck finding them ... going back to 2014 on Twitter is beyond my skill set.

Accuweather says tomorrow's weather will have 9 MPH winds with 22 MPH gusts ... a good bit LESS than today's weather. Nice work by X-tina, JTibs and Unlucky Five ... they all shoot two-over today and move UP twenty-one spots on the leaderboard.
********
Someone we know in Iglooland was shocked ... SHOCKED! ... that Muni was using shovels. Not his fault that he's so isolated, but c'mon man, Muni has been using shovels for YEARS ... I should know, I followed her in person in at least six tourneys going back to 2016. She had TM's M2 irons at Ridgewood in 2016 (my notes are unclear on whether or not it was the pro version) ... speaking cosmetics only, the M2 product line is a nice collection throughout.
A Getty pic of her at the 2019 Cambia ... I'm drawing a blank on this one, but I assume it was one of TM's semi-bulky offerings of that period.

As of Thursday, she was gaming TM's SIM Max irons (I think), but boy, they are like ugly on a hog, whew. Interesting pairing betwixt Hye Jin and Furue.
They shouldn't get too outwardly friendly to one another ... Lewis might jump on one of them ... it's been known to happen before.
Assuming Cyborg and Furue shoot the same score Sunday, I can think of one reason why GC would give Furue more attention: Japan's TV Wowow usually has that lady reporter on-site ... I can never remember her name, but I know it ... she played on the LPGA for about 15 minutes and speaks English well. I'll bet she talks up the Japanese players every week to the GIC ... but, who talks up the Korean players? JTBC Golf has been a TV studio-only operation ... if I see any of their people walking around at Shoprite or Cognizant in 2022, I'll let you know.

The broadcast had a brief clip of Sophia Schubert knocking it stiff at one of the par-threes ... at two-under, she is making Wilson look good this week. I perused her Twitter account ... as Sandra Gal does a fade out from LPGA, we might have a worthy replacement here.
Speaking of Wilson, the Getty photographer went nuts taking multiple pics of Schubert's bag ... maybe they're trying to sell to the Euro market.
She appears to have the Wilson Staff Model CB irons. I looked up the D9 driver (assuming she has one under that head cover) ... they don't have an adjustable hosel, which seems old-school ... although I've wondered if adjustable hosels create dead weight in the wrong place. Not familiar with Evnroll putters ... no "official" staffers on its website, but it says the 2019 Shoprite, 2017 Founders Cup and 2018 USWA winners used one (Lexi, Nordqvist and Gillman, respectively).

The best player since Sorenstam doesn't bother with the Florida swing. She's playing three-dimensional chess.

I guess if you are sponsored by Korean companies you have to say thanks but I've always felt her ties to NZ were very artificial in some ways. She got what she wanted from them in her junior days and has pretty much moved on despite having an NZ passport.

Funny thing that they used extremely faint coloring for the logo/words ... from almost any kind of distance, the bag looks blank ... maybe a backhanded way of saying this space is for rent.
********
Boutier is another player who relegated Crazy Bob to a side position on the cap ... Mr. Kaboom Baby's position on LPGA is in retreat this season (although The Rodent is still on board). Oh, and another pick-up for ADP ... have they had a presence on the LPGA before?

From Saturday ... who looks more ludicrous, Korda Two or Mr. Chinstrap?
*******
Penguin Princess on Sunday ... watching the replay now and Boone the Pantywaist talked about her nearly winning the 2017 USWO in "New Jersey" ... but where exactly in NJ?

Round 4
Congrats to Lydia on getting the win. This time I got it right, though it was a bit closer than I thought it would be!
In Gee never was able to recapture her momentum from the first round, but give her credit at least for not having any disasters, either. Anyways, I'm not really too concerned about these early events. For me the real action starts in Singapore. If the Sisters get wins before that, more's the better, so long as they bring their A Games to the big show!
Don't know what happened to Six. The two biggest stars for the Koreans both face planted this week, but at least Six waited until after she had made the cut, unlike Inbee. Decent week for Na Rin and Yaeeun. And Hye Jin got her season off to a nice little start with a sweet top ten. Alas, I think Nelly will hang onto her #1 ranking, but we'll see...
Hwaiting!
