The excitement online from the ladies is much toned down. There have been very few Twitter posts about this.
A few schools have posted their students is going. (school pride)
A young Indian phenomenon got an all-expenses- paid trip to attend. I think she is 15. She's happy to go.
No word yet on exactly how many Stanford Cardinals will be attending. Possibly all the starting four, but I haven't checked the rankings.
It seems the ladies know from the rankings who is going to get invited and who won't be.
The ladies seem to be getting down to business and not overly excited this go round.

The ANWA website hasn't posted a preliminary field yet.
Emma Spitz (7th on WAGR) of UCLA is in. She had a 71.6 scoring average during the 2020-21 season ... off to a slow start in 2021-22 at 73.3.
I don't know if any other Bruins made it. I checked out teammate Alessia Nobilio (45th on WAGR) at the 2021 USWA ... looked like a serious baller with a variety of brands, including the latest XXIO Forged irons. The redshirt Freshman is leading the team in scoring (72.7) in 2021-22. Sound like a contradiction that she's called a redshirt this season, but her sit-out season with UCLA was 2020-21.

I was wondering how I could find out en masse who would be playing here .... the website above just answered that question today. All but one of the seventy-two spots are filled ... the shocker is that the defending champ Tsubasa Kajitani has NOT committed yet. What is that about? I suppose her confidence took a couple of dents late last year ... she looked out of her depth in the USWA at Westchester ... later bombed out of the JLPGA Pro-Test ... but I assume she maintained her amateur status, true or false?
The KGA is not being cheap ... I see four names with ROK flags under them.
Fear The Tree ... Ganne should be happy she is not at Stanford NOW ... she might not get off the bench.

Yes. SIX Stanford girls are all going in that awesome pictures AND a recruit so SEVEN Stanford Cardinals will be there. Insane. Possibly the best women's college team in college history. They didn't lose once in the fall and likely won't in the spring and any of the seven could win ANWA. Rose could break many of Tiger Woods' records at Stanford. www.ANWAGOLF.com is the official site of the event. Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship probably is paying the bill for the Korean girls based in Korea to go to. At what point does the Korean media fawn over the girls who get invited?

I checked to see if they found the 72nd player yet ... instead, someone dropped out, so they're down to 34 U.S. players and 36 international players. I assume Kajitani will NOT defend her title, or her name would be on the list by now.

You forced me to click on that link when you said there were Sisters in the field... Shin Sil Bang and You Min Hwang both played in KLPGA events last year. Bang actually was in the top ten at the Hite Cup through three rounds before fading. If she plays remotely that well here, she will annihilate these kids. You Min Hwang did even better, tying Ina Yoon for 7th at the Pak Se Ri Invitational (final result). I vaguely recall Jeong Hyun Lee also being in a field somewhere, but I don't think she contended.

Two players invited will NOT be wearing their Oklahoma State colors at the ANWA (article above), Caley McGinty and Isabella Fierro, who have entered the "Transfer Portal." I never heard that term before, Transfer Portal ... I wonder if that's like "The Corridor" from 'Star Trek', which connects the two universes. McGinty, who played in last year's Curtis Cup for GB&I, transferred to OSU after two years at Kent State ... now she's transferring again? Fierro, from Mexico, is also in her junior year. Their faces and profiles have been expunged from the 2021-22 OSU roster page. I assume these two are super hot free agents for other schools, or do they want to turn pro now? (the article doesn't say). McGinty shot 68.58 in her first twelve rounds of this season, while Fierro shot 70.50.
I hope Julie Williams can dig up some DIRT from these two later ... they were taking ALL their fall and spring classes online, WTH! Even if you have a free ride, "virtual" college instruction is a rip-off and bulls***. Maybe they just really HATED everyone outside the golf course. Who and what is in Stillwater, OK anyway?

One player left first due to something I don't remember what. The second player told the coaches she wasn't feeling hot and wanted to consider transferring AFTER THE SPRING SEASON and the coach said something like "all in or out" so she was essentially kicked off the team immediately for being indecisive. I didn't read the article. I got this from Golf Channel's College Golf Talk podcast that talked about it. www.golfchannel.com/college-golf-talkEdit: Under new NCAA rules, they are in the transfer market and can leave. I don't know what the rule entails.

The field of 72 was finalized a few days ago, but now they're back to 71 as Brooke Seay switched to playing The Chevron that week as an amateur invite. Really?! What's that about?

Well over a year ago, I started plans to visit a friend who lives in the Augusta, GA area during Masters week. After trying and, like most, failing to secure tickets, my friend told me there were various ways for the general public to enjoy the tournament.
It didn't even enter my head until yesterday that I could have made plans to visit her a week earlier and spectate this event. Although that would have altered slightly the timing of my retirement.

Wednesday's threesomes are set ... Heck/Spitz/Migliaccio will draw a lot of attention and so will Ganne/Kuehn/Lindblad. The Zhangster will get Duncan, certainly a good preview to the Curtis Cup. Avery gets the am champ Castle ... Bang gets a couple of SEC stars, Julia Johnson and Beatrice Wallin.
Monday:
Avery and Heck
The Zhangster being prepared for her portrait photo
Team Pano
Rin Yoshida
Youmin Hwang
The players who bailed out at the last minute blew getting one of these priceless trinkets.
