We are 3 days away from the start of this tournament and the LPGA has yet to update their website to include a the 2022 Priority List.

They finally put out Priority List today. Q Series medalist Na Rin An....ranked 132. Shibuno 153. These players are so much better than Symetra top ten finishers, yet the Symetra players start with Lilia Vu at 99.

My field rating for this tournament is 37.5. Way up from 24.5 last year. My breakdown is 39.25 from the new LPGA Priority List and 37.50 from the Rolex Rankings. Because of the small field (only 29 players), this tournament is never going to have a high field rating. Fifteen of the top 25 players from the LPGA Priority List and 12 of the top 25 players from the Rolex Rankings will be teeing it up.
The only players that I can find that qualified, but chose to skip the event are: Jin Young Ko Minjee Lee Sei Young Kim Hyo Joo Kim
Not sure how Michelle Wie West got into this field.

Have they upgraded the "celebrities" for this clambake, or is it still headlined by Larry the Cable Guy and Paul Blart Mall Cop?

In other LPGA news, Shibuno Fever is no longer in the Gainbridge Monday qualifier. Per a couple of articles in Nikkan Sports, she has been excused from going to Florida in person to take the mandatory LPGA orientation session next week (it can be done remotely) and her first LPGA event of 2022 will be the HSBC WWC in Singapore. It is assumed that she'll get an invite to Honda in Thailand the following week (they have 14 open spots).
I find it odd that her name is not in the field at JTBC/Aviara, which would be a nice warm-up going into Chevron the following week. They had to go down to Priority #382 (Yoktuan) for Aviara's 144th player ... MHL (#188) is not in that field .... I wonder if she just quit.

The LPGA posted the list of 50 celebrities and Larry is on it. Only two women made that list, Mannika and Blair O'Neal ... Blair is described as 'Television Personality and Model' ... hmm, that's a little insulting ... off course, she's not Mickey Wright, but I saw Blair drive the ball with some giddy-ap many years ago at Galloway.

Nice...4% of the 50 celebs are female. Drive On! This event traditionally has the worst TV coverage of the year...with two-thirds of the GC time spent on fawning over the "celebs." And when it switches to NBC, it's more like 75%. I don't blame the New Ko, BadA$$ and HoJo for giving this a pass. But hey, who wouldn't prefer watching Larry the Cable Guy playing his air guitar nonstop.

According to an article I read, due to the shortened season in 2020, in 2021 they extended the filed to include winners from the past 3 three seasons 2018-2020, and since Wie West qualified for that, but had a medical exemption, they allowed her into this field. Which is something...

There is one yuge newsmaker in this week's caddie list ... Yuka Saso w/ Vern Tess. Is this a one-week deviation or did Lionel Matichuk get s***-canned? Lionel has been with Saso since at least the start of 2020. I never heard of Vern Tess before, but Getty Images shows him with Catriona Matthew in 2013 and Captain Kirk (when she was Hull) in 2010.
The Rocket will have Mark Wallington ... probably not the first time, he has bounced around a lot.

Vern Tess doesn’t even care that he’s looping for Saso but you can find that info here on Seoul Sisters.

Annika leads the celebrity tournament. :oh: I sort of expect to see her take some sponsor's exemptions leading up to the US Women's Open, even though she hasn't committed to playing in it yet.

I imagine Annika already has her schedule planned. We are going to hear them blather on and on about the Surly Swede until the US Open is over.
