Love these end-of-season reviews! and I hope you took my comment about Ju Young in the mock-serious tone it was intended.
Rookie of the Year race in the LPGA this year should be great - I'll be rooting for Na Rin and Hye Jin, but Atthaya Thitikul will surely also be a contender - as will Ayaka Furue. Somehow I feel she will be more consistent than Shibuno.
I took note of those long drives of Ina Yoon last year - in fact, I wondered if the distances were correct. She'll be fun to watch!

You forgot the Fakest Moment Award: Major League Minjee at the KLPGA Hana Bank whose "contact" with winner Ga Eun Song had as much warmth as a hazmat disposal.

Somehow I feel she will be more consistent than Shibuno. I feel like the ROY will come down to those four. I still think that Hye Jin is the favorite. Not sure about Furue -- I read somewhere that she is somewhat short off the tee? If so, she'll have to be extra great to make up for that on the LPGA, where even all-time greats like Jiyai Shin struggled to make up for their short driving. The other three will have no probs in that department. |

I'm just going by a couple articles I've read and the occasional bit of anecdotal evidence, like those drives at the KLPGA event and the fact she made three eagles in one round. But I'm getting the same feeling about her as when Sung Hyun Park and A Lim Kim came along; she seems like a bomber. We'll see; but it will be fun to watch her progress! |
