But Mi Hyang Lee plummeted, and it looks like she'll be in the minor leagues next year.
Yeah, back to the one dollar hamburger circuit ... just pick up another four wins there and she'll be tied with ... uh, Christine Song. That's probably a better financial option than burning up your retirement savings on weekly Monday LPGA qualifiers. Even if a ton of players skipped Shoprite/Acer, could she still get into that one? I also think finding a rich husband is now on the table and there would be no shortage of interested candidates.
I really don't see MHL slumming on the Symetra Tour, it seems such a come-down. She's a multiple LPGA winner, in my mind a different class of player than those who bounce back and forth between the big tour and the @road2oblivion. **cough** KT **cough**.
I don't know if RLB is re-retired from competitive golf or will give it yet another go, but if she's on the Symetra Tour in 2022 at least Mi Hyang will have a BFF to hang out with. And you can bet both will be back at the CM ProAm next year.
Ben Harpring has made it to Highland Oaks for Week 2.
In 2019, KT hovered around the Q-Series top ten until the final day, when she dropped 15+ places, which really affected her status. She's been on a pretty intense workout regimen this year, let's see if her late week stamina has improved.
Dothan, AL was the home of the Dothan Phillies in 1961, a class 'D' minor league baseball team in the six-team Alabama-Florida League. They finished DFL with a 35-82 record ... average attendance was 135 per game. Only one of its players made it to the Major Leagues, the rubber-armed closer of the '70s, Mike Marshall ... it was the first of four minor leagues seasons as a shortstop where he committed 53, 68, 45 and 39 errors. Someone had the bright idea that he should switch to pitching in 1965 and the rest is history.
I finally found out who is Ayaka Furue's coach ... per Google mush, it's her daddy, Yoshihiro Furue ... but, you can call him 'Dave'.
They are waiting out a 75-minute 1-hour & 45-minute fog delay before starting.
Q-Series is relatively new, so there has not been a set pattern regarding the cut policy. In 2018, there was NO cut ... 100 players played eight rounds. In 2019, there was a cut after Round Six, so 80 players played eight rounds. Both years were at various Pinehurst courses, so there were no travel issues. However, with 200 miles separating Weeks One and Two in 2021, having a cut after Round Four seemed to be the only practical choice (if you wanted a cut).
They didn't quite get the round finished today. Na Rin was particularly strong today, moving to 22 under and 8 under par thrugh 15. Hye Jin was not quite as good, but she's still 2 under and 19 under total, which is just fine.
Alas, Yaeeun Hong struggled a bit and fell to 8 under. OK, not a disaster, she could afford one of these, but tomorrow she needs to get back on track.
