Kudos: In Gee Chun for a tie for ninth place.
Great rebound by So Yeon after her second bogey on hole five, to finish with seven birdies. Her round of minus six tied fifteenth place with Sei Young Kim, Danielle Kang and Jeongeun Lee6.

I’m not going to say anything about the new commish picking up the wrong trophy for Player of the Year. It happens.

Round 4 Wow, what an absolutely incredible way to finish the season for Jin Young Ko. The truly great players find a way to get the job done when it counts the most. She's been strong all week, especially on the front nine yesterday, but today she faced her biggest rival with the Player of the Year on the line, nursing an injury, and I honestly don't recall a single moment today where she was anything less than a total boss. It's not even like it was an even fight; all Nelly had to do was get a top 8 and she would force JYK to win to get the POY. But, here's the thing: Jin Young really likes winning. She's kinda good at it. And win she did, making no mistakes, hitting all 18 greens and 14 fairways, and dumping a ridiculous number of birdies into the cup. We've had great Sisters before, but Jin Young's stats are starting to get silly good. I read that she has shot in the 60s in 25 of her last 26 rounds, and her last 11 if my math is right. She finished the week by hitting 63 consecutive greens. SIXTY THREE! Jeez, how is that even possible? She is now the only Korean to ever win POY twice; even Inbee didn't do that. Her $3.5 million total is by far the most a Sister has ever made in a season. Heck, she wasn't eligible for the Vare, but her scoring average was also one of the lowest (I think possibly THE lowest) a Korean has ever had: 68.866. And only two Koreans before her ever won five times in a season, and she collected three of those in her last four starts... A few words for the other Koreans. In Gee notched her 8th top ten of the year, the best she's had in many years. Lee6 had the most birdies of anyone on tour, 343. She also had 8 top tens, and earned over a million bucks. But let's face it, this really was the Jin Young Ko Show this year. Congrats to her on her epic achievement. HWAITING!!! So - As much fun as this day was, I still gotta say: they have got to set these courses up harder. Jin Young and Nasa played great, but these courses are still too easy.

That dog is the one thing that could bring Lexi fans and me together at a tourney. For don:

How's this for a stat: link"On the PGA Tour you are more likely to see an ace than to see a player hit all 18 greens. Chances a player hits all 18 greens Once every ~582 rounds Chances of a hole-in-one Once every ~563 rounds" And Jin Young did it three times in a row.

This stat is slightly downgraded after your continual mention of how easy the courses are, but impressive none the less.

I think I could not have been much happier about the way the season went.
This season was all about JY Ko and Nelly...really everyone else played second fiddle.
For most of the season I thought Korda should be the player of the year, but Ko had a second half of the season like none of us have seen since Annika. And Annika didn't have to play against today's competition.
Sixty-six consecutive greens hit? I don't care about the course set up...that is unheard of. All those rounds in the sixties? Phenominal. I thought I would be upset if Nelly didn't win it...I'm not...Ko wasn't given the award...she earned it.
As far as Nelly is concerned, at the beginning of the season she said she had 3 goals: 1) win her first Major Championship (2) win the Olympic gold medal, and (3) finish the year world's #1.
She accomplished them all.
These two players have very different games, but are so evenly matched...we should be overjoyed at what they gave us in 2021. I for one are looking forward to more of the same next year!

Is it a fact that Nelly will finish as #1? Given the fraction of points that she was ahead prior to CME, do we know that Jin Young didn’t overtake her with the win?

Is it a fact that Nelly will finish as #1? Given the fraction of points that she was ahead prior to CME, do we know that Jin Young didn’t overtake her with the win? Prior to the Pelican Tournament Jin Young Ko and Nelly Korda were virtually tied at 9.03 After the Pelican which Nelly won and Jin Young tied for sixth Ranking Nelly Korda 9.98 +.95 Jin Young Ko 9.03 +00 ? After the CME which Jin Young Ko won and Nelly tied for fifth Ranking Nelly Korda 10.07 + .09 Jin Young Ko 9.94 +.91 I don't know why the math worked out that way. I guess it had something to do with Jin Young 52 Tournament used and Nelly 48. I guess Jin Young divide hurt her. I thought that she should've got some bomb by finishing in the top six in the Pelican.

Jin Young put her stamp on this year. Congratulations!
An odd season in that no Korean player had a real breakout year. Jin Young has "broken out" before. The only other two victors were veterans Inbee Park and Hyo Joo Kim. A Lim Kim finished only 7th in ROY.
'Twas nice to see In Gee Chun back with a solid year.
It will be great for me to finally get back to watching an LPGA tournament next season. I had never gone without after starting in 2003 until this damn pandemic made me go without for two years. An added bonus is I'll be retiring soon so I don't have to schedule around work anymore.

Really was incredible that Nelly and JYK won the last two weeks of the season.
