No bloodbath this week ... the cut was -1 and 58 players made it.
Edited player cams -
Shibuno -
Hara -
Yoshida -
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1T Kana Mikashima -12 -7 66 64 130 1T Asuka Kashiwabara -12 -5 64 66 130 3T Ayaka Watanabe -9 -3 65 68 133 3T Erika Hara -9 -2 64 69 133 5T Chae-Young Yoon -8 -5 68 66 134 5T Yuna Nishimura -8 -2 65 69 134 5T Sakura Koiwai -8 -8 71 63 134 8T Hina Arakaki -7 -6 70 65 135 8T Saiki Fujita -7 -4 68 67 135 8T Haruka Morita -7 -6 70 65 135 8T Nana Yamashiro -7 0 64 71 135 8T Momoko Ueda -7 -2 66 69 135 8T Yuri Yoshida -7 -1 65 70 135
Yui (MC) blew it ... there are players behind her on the Points list who made the cut, so retaining her 50th ranking will be difficult. Finishing 51 thru 55 in Points or Money will give you playing privileges during the first half of 2022.
Sakura Koiwai
Yuri Yoshida
Shibuno Fever (-5)
Queen Shiho (-6) was 45th on the Money list coming into this week.
Hina Arakaki ... is it too late? She is 58th in Points and 64th in Money. Yuka Yasuda (MC) is in worse shape on those lists.
Chie Arimura (MC) has to sweat out the weekend ... 48th in Points and 49th in Money

Kotone Hori minus two isn't too bad, she has a chance to improve on it.
Yui Kawamoto avoided making any bogeys. But she could manage only two birdies to miss the cut by one. If she has to go to Q-School I am sure she will be in the Top Ten. So either way she will be on the Tour next year.

I tested the NTV video link a couple of hours ahead of time ... it kept buffering, so I didn't bother getting up for it. Meanwhile, this video might be enough ... two co-leaders starting at the par-5 17th hole:

Good final round by Kotone Hori at minus five.
Checked the Rankings, Kotone Hori is in thirty sixth place. Yui Kawamoto is fifty third place, will be able to play the first half. She just need to make cuts and play really good to improve her status.

Watched the last 4 holes or so of this. That eagle by Hara on 17 was so clutch. Shut down the other contenders, and she coasted in from there. Is she regarded as the next big star on JPLGA? I see she leads the tour in driving distance, and not so bad in accuracy either.

"Next?!" ... she was getting magazine covers BEFORE her first win on Japan's big tour. For sure, she brings some physical tools to bear at the golf course, but she has had inexplicable stretches in Japan where she has done almost nothing ... T-49 and T-46 in the two events before this one. I assume Jumbo Ozaki is still her guru ... waiting for a WITB article to see if she is still gaming the antique wedge he gave her a few years ago.

By my count, Hara is three-for-three in LPGA Major trunk slams ... no need to be in a rush for the Q-series ... she's probably good enough to make it to the Major Leagues, but staying there would be a much bigger challenge ... has been extremely streaky in Japan and sometimes her short putting is brutally bad.

Hara's WITB -
1W: Mizuno ST-X prototype (10.5 ° TOUR AD GP-5S / 46 inches) 3W: Mizuno ST200 (15 ° TOUR AD IZ-5S / 43 inches) 5W: Mizuno Pro Prototype (18 ° TOUR AD IZ-6S / 41.5 inch) 4,5I: Mizuno Mizuno Pro FLI-HI (Steel Fiber 80S) 6I-PW: Mizuno JPX921 Tour (NS850 neo S) GW: Mizuno Pro 225 (48 °) A, SW: Callaway JAWS FORGED (52,58 °) PT: Odyssey Toulon San Diego BALL: Bridgestone TOUR BX
Not surprised that Jumbo's relic wedge is history. It was the first week for that driver head and she cut a quarter-inch off the shaft length. The GW is from a new iron set Mizuno released in Asia on Oct. 15.
