Round 4 Going into this round, I knew for sure that no matter what, Korda was going to win, and that Thompson would have a chance to win and would blow it. What I didn't know is that she would blow it twice. Man, is Lexi the worst pressure putter on tour or what? She makes Michelle Wie look like Inbee. I also didn't suspect that Sei Young would also be in a playoff. SYK was 4-0 in LPGA playoffs before this, and most of the time, she seemed to beat other Sisters I was rooting for over her: for instance, So Yeon in Korea, Lee6 at Mediheal, and of course Inbee in Hawaii. But this time I was rooting for her, so naturally the curse of 2021 kicked in and she lost. Somehow she managed to miss the fairway on this ridiculously wide course, and though she hit some good shots after that, she never fully recovered. But there was some good news. SYK seems to really be struggling with consistency, but she played pretty well this week, and that final birdie on 18 was clutch. Jin Young was perfectly solid all week, ending with a 66, which meant a 6th place and her 12th top ten. Interestingly, her final three rounds were exactly the same under par as In Gee's; but Dumbo's first round cost her any chance of the top ten Jin Young got. Hwaiting!

Nice you were surprised by the playoff. 😁 I tried to stay vague. SYKs putt on her 72nd hole made the whole tournament for me. That's the kind of clutch magic that's made her my favorite player and the first time I've seen it this season. I wish there were more events left for her. Normally, I'd be more disappointed in both her and Lydia for that playoff performance but they were understandably shocked to be in a playoff at all. It was a weird situation. It's hard to be too mad. Sei Young's playoff tee shot did break my heart a little, ouch. She's been so good off the tee lately. This week I'll mostly be rooting for JYK to answer Nelly's win with one of her own. But, I'll be extremely happy if SYK can pull out another good week, maybe even a win. It would be like her to save her win for the biggest paycheck. 😁

Great Tournament for Jin Young Ko, especially under the pressure of carrying the Korean Golfers. At least Sei Young Kim stepped up to almost get the win. I really didn't watch the last round, I didn't have a lot of time for golf this week.
I am not sure if So Yeon is going to focus on golf next year. She is in her prime and should be playing a lot better.
Jeongeun Lee6 has under achieved this year. I mean with her talent level she should have had at least a couple of wins.

I wonder if there is a comparable playoff as far as topped ranked players all there. I supposed Annika played Webb in a few. But for multiple players this one was loaded.

Sei Young is a mystery to me. Coming off her best season, she has seemed all over the map this year. It seems like half the shots she hits, she takes one hand off the club and seems annoyed. She hits a lot of quality shots, but also makes a lot of silly mistakes. I hope she can work out what's wrong over the Winter.
Six has been reworking her swing this year. We've seen some signs that she is getting there, but I expect she'll figure it all out over the Winter and come back in superstar form. She's just too darn good not to have a multi-win season or two in her.
