An Asian major is long overdue - Korea has some great courses that would be a real test. And also overdue is to give up on US network TV - global streaming is the way to go for this international tour. Seems like half the sponsors for LPGA are foreign companies anyway. Haha, maybe KLPGA has to expand, start cannibalizing lpga events. Bet they could run a better tour. On the lpga every major is already Asian.

It's embarrassing this major championship doesn't have a course a week after Samwhaan made the announcement. Bluejack National is out. That would mean Tiger Woods has to acknowledge ladies' golf.

So much for 'the jump in the pond is tradition'. So much for 'the ANA is the Ladies Masters'. Imagine the men's Masters moving out of Augusta if Tesla waved $30 million around. Yeah, would never happen. So now is the perfect time to de-Majorize this event once and for all. And the same with Evian. Then the tour can do what they should have done years ago: create an Asian Major. The time is now!!! I guess that I am kind of late to this conversation. To me the ANA to Chevon change doesn't feel like a Major to me. I will go to my last one next year to end the best Major. I suppose a bigger purse help the golfers, but shouldn't make it a Major. A Major status should be earned, not by more money. By the way the Evian is my third favorite Major behind the ANA and USWO. If anything they should make a Korean Major, instead of one in Texas.

With the LPGA leaving the California desert, many golf fans are asking: when do we get another tournament?
Larry Bohannan, Palm Springs Desert Sun October 22, 2021 6:00 am ET

Poor Larry, he's down one big tournament ... but, to his credit, his article is NOT filled with pie-in-the-sky nonsense as an answer to the question above. He had one sticking point I never thought of ... no really big company makes its HQ in the desert. I don't think the LPGA should give up on the Palm Springs area ... heck, they have an international airport. The amount of golf there is CRAZY ... you can drive the 5-mile length of Frank Sinatra Drive and be a stones-throw from ten courses ... and MANY more beyond it. My advice would be to think small ... do a three-day tournament with two days of pro-ams ... if a club is a reluctant host, can you give a pro-am discount to club members? I don't know the sponsorship situation there ... do they have a really popular pharmacy or supermarket that the old folks like? Look at the demographics ... how about a hospital chain?! It reminds me of playing Clearbrook GC inside a senior community ... drive out the front gate and you'll see an Urgent Care facility across the street. One more point: Forget about playing Missions Hills again ... just bury those memories and start fresh elsewhere.
The article has the pic below ... must have been an accident.
