My field rating this week is a very soft 40% (down from 55% last year.) I think we can attribute the large decrease to the fact that it is played this year right after the Solheim Cup. Very few of the Solheim Cup participants are teeing it up this week.
The Monday Qualifiers were Gabriella Ruffles and Alyaa Abdulghany. Both shot 71.
In spite of the low field rating, there will be some LPGA stars on the course this week. They include: Jin Young Ko Jeongeun Lee6 Brooke Henderson Ariya Jutanugarn Moriya Jutanugarn Carlota Ciganda Nasa Hataoka Patty Tavakanakit Jennifer Kupcho A Lim Kim
Top players choosing to skip the event this week include: Nelly Korda Jessica Korda Sei Young Kim Lexi Thompson Minjee Lee Danielle Kang Hyo Joo Kim Lizette Salas Shanshan Feng Amy Yang So Yeon Ryu Inbee Park Celine Boutier Ally Ewing Lydia Ko Anna Nordqvist In Gee Chun
There have been many changes in the top 100 since I last posted the previous LPGA tournament. Brittany Lincicome, Mi Hyang Lee, So Young Lee, Azahara Munoz, Mi Jeong Jeon and Momoko Osato have all dropped out of the top 100 and are no longer part of my field ratings. They have been replaced with: Eri Okayama Momoko Osato Mi Jeong Jeon Ryann O'Toole Esther Henseliet Ga Young Lee

Jin Young Ko Ranking dropped to number two, is she not considered a Star now.(kidding) She is on the list and has always been there. Great, Monday Qualifiers ex USC Trojans, Gabriella Ruffles and Alyaa Abdulghany. I noticed that Ilhee Lee is entered, I thought that she had retired. Her Rolex Ranking is 844, never thought about the Ranking going that high.

Alyaa and Ruffels shot 71 in the qualifier.
Too bad Karis Davidson was T-3 at 73 ... will try to qualify at Walmart, Shoprite and Cognizant.

Karis had a tough 2020-2021 at JLPGA; maybe she's here to play Stage II, Q-School?

When I read your post I embassingly checked my notes and she was the first name I had written down...unfortunatley I am getting old and copied it wrong. Once again I apologize.

The new course looks ok. The last course was real pretty and the players liked Columbia Edgewater. It's kind of pathetic when you run and hide from some ragamuffins trying to survive by living in their vehicles.

The intern is goofing off again ... nothing at all posted for this tournament in the 'Media - Press site' section of lpga.com.

Feels like forever since the last tournament. The schedule is in ruins.

It appears that Thad Kael is no longer looping for Kelly Tan ... I'm guessing he dumped her for greener pastures (Albane Valenzuela). KT has Dustin Lattery this week, who I never heard of before. Also, AVD has Kylie Pratt on the bag, which looks like a recent change, too.

Cambia/Walmart/Shoprite/Cognizant ... aka The Last Roundup for MHL if this keeps up. The caddie list has no one next to her name.

I'm really going out on a limb with this prediction: Su Oh won't win this week.

Jin Young Ko had a clean round with five birdies through fourteen holes. But made bogeys on 15, 16, 17 and a birdie on eighteen. Still a very solid round.
Jeongeun Lee six shot thirty eight on her front nine. However she rebounded with four birdies no bogeys back nine.
Jenny Shin, Mi Jung Hur minus three and Sung Hyun Park minus two, also had solid starts.

Great day for the Sisters; even Namdalla managed a top ten! What a pretty and interesting course! Too bad I couldn't go this year, but as much as I like Columbia Edgewater, I hope I get a chance to attend this event next year at this course. Hwaiting!
