FIRST!!!
This one runs Oct. 1 thru Oct. 3 at the Seaview Bay course for a field of 132 ... I'll be there Wednesday thru Friday ... will try to get in some golf on Wednesday or Thursday. This event will return to its traditional late-May/early-June calendar spot in 2022 ... I'm guessing it will be one week before or after the USWO (June 2 thru June 5).
***********
Three invitees were announced -
* Megha Ganne - We all know who this is.
* Brynne Walker - I've seen her at a couple of USGA qualifiers ... she's from the Philly Mainline and has played this track many times.
* Rachel Drummond - Played for years on the LET scrub tour ... from England, she's the 54th reserve for Aramco/New York ... I don't think she'll need a room for Saturday night.
**********
Three additional spaces are open ... I assume two of them are for hypothetical first-time winners at Portland and Arkansas.
**********
The highest reshuffled player (ranked #158) in the Monday qualifier is Bianca P. She's 5th on the reserve list ... I'd give her a 50/50 chance of getting into this one without qualifying, especially if past-winners win at Portland and Arkansas. Reserves 1 thru 4 are Andrea Lee, MS Kwak, Sarah Burnham and Alana Uriell.
**********
Everything is going back to 2019 ... the only difference is that the fan pavilions overlooking the 17th and 18th greens will be open air.

Why does this remain a 54-hole tournament? (and why did it go to 72 last year, and back in 1990?)

Answer: Two days of pro-ams at three or four different courses. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
There were no pro-ams or spectators last year ... I don't know what happened in 1990.

I can't be arsed to start the topic but the LPGA will stick around in New Jersey a couple more weeks for the Founders Cup. It's about an hour west of NYC and if the leaderboard does not outrage me I'll stop by on the weekend.

Have any interest in hitting the LET in Old Westbury the following week? There are still 12 open invitee spaces for that field ... I have no idea who is on the radar to fill them. Admission is free, but there will be no gate tickets ... all you have to do is pre-register on the website. Play your cards right and you might receive an offer to be a sports washing emissary.

I always rewatch Atlantic City before the ShopRite. If you can't have a good time in Atlantic County there's something wrong with you.

The field is in flux for sure ... when I click on 'Tournament Entries' now at lpga.com, I get a blank screen.
The Monday qualifier is up to 44 names ... although I expect a couple of these players to get into the tournament without qualifying. Kaitlyn Papp doesn't have an 'a' next to her name ... just looked her up, she was a senior at U of Texas for 2020-21. NJ high schooler Katie Li will tee it up. So will Meaghan Francella ... who I last saw at the Seaview looping for Marina Alex in 2015. As usual, the pride of "Charlestown, North End", Alison Walshe, is here for some hacking. Linda Wang, ex-St. John's U, will probably bring her knee-high socks to this one. I remember Caroline Ciot at the 2018 USWO qualifier at Canoe Brook. Gemma Dryburgh is in the qualifier, but wlll her recent play in Portland get her out of it?

Bianca is in the field now. The EMP is the 7th alternate ... I don't think there are enough potential dropouts to get her into the field ... as of now, she's in the Monday qualifier.
********
Susana Benavides is a brunette Blair O'Neal of the celebrity pro set. Maybe I've seen her at one of the pro-ams down there ... can't recall, I'd have to look it up. Anyway, it's obvious now that she'll be at the Galloway pro-am this year ... otherwise, why did they ask her to do Shoprite commercials? https://www.instagram.com/p/CSxC7H5Hq7J Back in the late '80s, I saw a commercial being shot around 9 PM or later ... I think it was at the Shoprite in Hillsborough, NJ. The two actors were in the back at the meat section and they were doing one take after another ... and another ... and another ...

They're dropping like flies ... as a result, McPherson, Spilkova, Nagel and Stoelting have been added to the field. The next three reserves are now Dryburgh, Lauren Kim and The EMP.
The Monday qualifier tee times are set for 40 players ... Alison Walshe bailed out, not sure if anyone else did ... career am Jackie Rogowicz was a late addition. Karis Davidson received a good break by getting put in the first group as a twosome ... can fly through the first nine holes, before reaching the crossover at #10 (they're using split tees). LPGA "retiree" Cindy LaCrosse is in a threesome with The EMP ... CL was at the NJ USWO qualifier in May ... of course, she'll be in the pro-ams; the tee times haven't been posted yet, but it'll look like Jurassic Park later this week.
The best two-day deal I could make at my usual dump will cost $45/night (including all taxes and fees) ... which is about 50% above the usual cost ... I know who is responsible, but will zipper it, per the forum rules. I've got a Wednesday tee time in the Hammonton area, near lunchtime, which is later than I prefer. But, if I get there real early, maybe they'll be nice and get me out there at least two hours sooner ... which would give me more time later at the Seaview.
Btw, ex-QB Ron Jaworski is a golf course mogul in South Jersey ... I checked out the green fees of some of these places on his website ... $88, $100+, $58, hey Jaws, GTFOOH! Maybe a membership at these places is a decent value (especially compared to Mr. Orange's footprint in SJ) ... I've never inquired about a membership anywhere. I liked Ron with the Vermiel Eagles, but really ... didn't he once say he had about 17 concussions during his career?! I'll buy that.

I always liked Jaworski as a player. Not so much as an announcer. It's now fashionable to say he was overrated. I don't think so but I lost $50 when he stunk in the Super Bore against the Raiders.

Ron was 3-0-0 as a regular season starter and 1-0 as a playoff starter for the Rams. It's easy to second-guess now, but it was clearly a strategic error to keep Haden and dump Jaws before the 1977 season. I just watched the NFL Films highlight reel from the '75 playoff game against the Cardinals on YouTube ... Polish Rifle indeed, he launched the ball 53 yards in the air with almost no effort in a TD bomb to Harold Jackson. The Knox Rams of the '70s were studs ... but, I couldn't believe how they choked in the playoffs every year ... and their QB situation was like a Rubik's Cube.

I see that Hyo Joo Kim is playing in the ShopRite. I guess she decided to stop stealing money from the KLPGA. This is Nelly Korda third Tournament that she has skipped. Has she decided that this is the best way to keep her No.1 Ranking (kidding) I don't think that she have to worry about a strong wind blowing her away.(Again kidding) Or is she just hanging around with her fun loving sister Jessica. Has In Kyung Kim been out because of an injury?

Accuweather says there's a 40% chance of a t-storm Tuesday PM, as well as a possibility of a couple of showers on Saturday ... otherwise, it will be dry with high temps between 68F and 72F for Friday thru Sunday.
Open to the elements, the infrastructure around the 18th green is up:

Here is my field rating for this week's event: First let me say that I had to base it on last week's Rolex Rankings, as they haven't updated yet. I am leaving now to drive there and could not wait any longer. I will go from there to the Founders Cup...which is also in NJ this year. My field rating is a not-so-bad 64.5% (up slightly from 64% last year). My breakdown is a 75% from the LPGA Priority List and 54% from the Rolex World Rankings. Some of the bigger names skipping the event this week include: Nelly Korda Jeongeun Lee6 Jessica Korda Minjee Lee Lizette Salas Mi Jung Hur Carlota Ciganda Shanshan Feng Megan Kang Jasmine Suwannapura Lydia Ko Austin Ernst (Getting Married) Cristie KerrAngela Stanford Hee Young Park (disappointed because she always played there before) Yealimi Noh
