Andy Johnson from the fried egg always has an interesting thought. The two highest profile women’s events are Solheim and the Olympics. I’m neither case do they get paid, get to rep their sponsors or show their own style.

They procrastinated in typical American fashion, sauntering in unprepared on the last day believing they would just stomp their feet and yell and ultimately get their way. And hey they almost pulled it off. But in the end, they still come out winners. It is hard to describe but women's golf suddenly feels different. A lot colder and less significant in the world of sports or even of golf. The US golfing public no longer takes women's golf serious enough to actually muster any criticism for losing to a severe underdog. Instead they will be slathered with a bunch of chauvinist, patronizing praise. Oh but they bonded, and more importantly they had fun!

It's great there's bad blood between Maguire and Kupcho. Duke vs. Wake Forest.

The fans in Sheboygan will take the heat off the hillbillies in Toledo.

The fans in Sheboygan will take the heat off the hillbillies in Toledo. I heard the PGA was stunned by how much alcohol was consumed during the first event at Whistling Straights. It would be fun to see the war room at Budweiser where they track it like Home Depot tracks plywood sales ahead of a hurricane.
