Starts Thursday for the first time at Galgorm Castle and Massereene Golf Club, which are ranked at #13 and #20 respectively in Northern Ireland by the top-100 golf course site. Oh, and neither place is a links course. I recall seeing MHL's name earlier, but she's not in the field now. Tee times not posted yet. It's one of those men and women events, similar to what they have done in Oz.

This playing field is a joke
My field rating is an all time low 18%. The breakdown is 23 from the LPGA Priority List and 13% from the Rolex Ratings.
The only players even worth mentioning that are in the field are: Jeongeun Lee6 Lizette Salas Charley Hull Jennifer Kupcho In Gee Chun Georgia Hall Cheyenne Knight Yealimi Noh Atthaya Thitikul
A Yeon Cho and Esther Henseleit have dropped out of the top 100 of the Rolex Rankings and will no longer be part of my field rating. They have been replaced by Chella Chio and Pajaree Anann arukarn.
Lee6 and Sals are the only players in the field ranked in the top 25

tonyj500It's a little be better than a typical LET event but is weaker than an average JLPGA or KLPGA event. Typical winners of LET events get 6.00 Rolex Ranking points while JLPGA/KLPGA get about 19.00. My guess is winner this week will get 15.00 points. The most outrageous thing is the winner, however, will get a full 500.00 Race to CME Globe Ranking points.

In case you care, the link above will cover the men's scores. They have the world rankings in the far right column and only two of these guys are in the top-100. If I counted right, nine are in the top-200.
******
The LPGA posted the caddie list for women and men players. With Brittany Altomare off this week, Audrey Gerdes is working for Becky Morgan. Kelly Tan is off, so Thad Kael went to Pannart T. MHL is not around, so Mark Wallington goes with Lauren Kim. I like how they describe the vacancies: Brianna Do - Don't have one yet; Benyapa N. - still looking.

Jeongeun Lee6 had the same front nine that she had at the Evian, four bogeys. She did come back with four birdies again back nine, but another bogey.

Round 1 Lucky Six was really off on the front nine. Long game, irons, and especially putting. She was making really terrible mistakes, to the point where I was a bit worried she was reliving Evian. But, just like Evian, she did much better on her back nine. There's still lots of time left, so hopefully she can dust herself off and get back into this thing. This tournament needs her! Meanwhile, who would have expected Chella Choi to be tied for the lead, and Min So Kwak to be just a couple back? Not I! Good luck to them in round 2. Sisters hwaiting!

Love to see Chella in the hunt. I remember the Golf Channel beating the idea to death that her father would retire after she got her first win, back when she seemed like a weekly contender. Was hoping that win was going to launch her to the next tier, but hopefully this week can launch the rest of her 2021. Next to Atthaya stealing this, and fast tracking her way to the LPGA I’d love to see her win this.
Or at least any LPGA-er defend a tour card from an LET regular (besides Thitikul).

Such a downer that Jeongeun Lee6 missed the cut. I know she put on a happy face after losing the Evian. It had to affect her, because she was minus fifteen after two rounds. But could only manage minus three the next two rounds. One of the minus three was a hole out for an eagle. Oh well, maybe she will have a great Tournament the next time she plays.

Chella Choi has been a Total Golf Professional since she joined the LPGA . She has the one win but have had an above average Golf Career so far. She has come close to the second win a few times, I hope that she get it.

Yeah, with Six out of it Chella is pretty much my only remaining rooting interest. Go get em, Chella!
