This four-rounder starts Thursday and is YUGE ... a field of 144, top-70 plus ties make the cut and they're going after a record ¥300,000,000. Believe it or not, human beings will be allowed access to watch the action.
The broadcast appears to be entirely over the Internet (Japan time) -
THU 7 AM - 7 PM
FRI 7 AM - 7 PM
SAT 8 AM - 5 PM
SUN 8 AM - 5 PM
Based upon the tourney website, you might have to pay ¥2,200 to see it. In case it's on YouTube, try this search -

In the TMZ department, Mamiko Higa split up with the sumo wrestler. The Google mush said she ended her "engagement" at the end of last year. I thought they were already married, but maybe they weren't, or maybe the Google mush is misleading.

Wednesday prep -
Minami Katsu
Miyuu Yamashita
JY Shin and Kotono Kozuma
Hina Arakaki and Yui
Ting Ting and Sakuchan

Pay-per-view plus high ticket prices ... I wonder how many people actually saw the first round?
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Erika Kikuchi -7 -7 65 65 2T Min-Young Lee -6 -6 66 66 2T Teresa Lu -6 -6 66 66 4T Mao Saigo -5 -5 67 67 4T Ayaka Furue -5 -5 67 67 6T Yuna Nishimura -4 -4 68 68 6T Ritsuko Ryu -4 -4 68 68 6T Rumi Yoshiba -4 -4 68 68 6T Sakura Kito -4 -4 68 68 6T Ririna Staiano -4 -4 68 68
Hikaru Yoshimoto (-1). Unless the Google mush is seriously wrong, a daily ticket for a tournament round costs ¥10,000 (about $90 USD). If that was someone's plans to keep people away, it worked.
Teresa Lu
Mamiko Higa (E)
Min Young Lee
Rumi Yoshiba
Pei Ying Tsai (E)
For the Olympics watch, Ayaka Furue (below) opened a six-shot lead over Mone Inami
Jae Eun Chung (+2) and Yuka Yasuda (E)

Really good round, minus three by Kotone Hori, still improving.
Yui Kawamoto is too close to the cut line at even par. Started out with two early bogeys, had three birdies one bogey afterwards.

Another really good round by Kotone Hori, minus three, minus six for the Tournament.
The living Legend Yuri Fudoh made the cut at minus one.
Yui Kawamoto got to plus two but made bogey on her seventh hole. She is done for this one.

The cut was +1 and 78 players made it.
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Erika Kikuchi -10 -3 65 69 134 2T Teresa Lu -8 -2 66 70 136 2T Mao Saigo -8 -3 67 69 136 4T Mi-Jeong Jeon -7 -6 71 66 137 4T Serena Aoki -7 -6 71 66 137 6T Kotone Hori -6 -3 69 69 138 6T Erika Hara -6 -3 69 69 138 6T Ritsuko Ryu -6 -2 68 70 138 6T Yuna Nishimura -6 -2 68 70 138 6T Bo-Mee Lee -6 -4 70 68 138 6T Naruha Miyata -6 -8 74 64 138
Erika Kikuchi
Kotone Hori ... can you really push that bag with those tiny wheels in the front?
Bo Mee Lee
Mone Inami (MC) bombed out for the first time since last November, but still has a high probability of making the Olympics
Ayaka Furue (-5) needs a win this week to make the Olympics (also assuming Shibuno does nothing at KPMG)
Mi Jeong Jeon
Mao Saigo followed her own advice
S. Langkul (MC) at #18 ... maybe MLB should have donated all its cardboard cut-outs to the JLPGA

A couple of brief rogue videos have slipped through the pay-per-view firewall, both from the second round:
1.) Round One highlights of Ayaka Furue, followed by her warm-up on the range. Then it fades to the next group ready to tee off at the 1st hole, with graphics in Japanese and English. Why bother including English? Who outside Japan has a bank account in Yen for the pay-per-view?
2.) The sound is screwed up on this one, but you'll see the first two groups tee off at #1, which include Ji Hee Lee and Ah Reum Hwang:

Great Tournament for Kotone Hori, five birdies and two bogeys F/R, She ended with a top four tie for the Tournament, again getting better. She had only three bogeys the entire Tournament, which is also great.

Although I didn't watch the broadcast, I'll bet they said "wire-to-wire" in English (Korean broadcasters would say the same).

Career win #4 and the first since 2017.
Saiki Fujita
I was wrong ... Ayaka Furue needed a 58 today ... was in tears during the middle of her round as the Olympics effed up her thinking process.
JY Shin
I think it's safe to say that Kotone Hori is all the way back to the player who was leading the 2016 JWO, until gagging it to NASA on the last few holes.
Yuna Nishimura
Misuzu Narita (+9), Eimi Koga (+1) and Miki Sakai (+1)
Bo Mee Lee (-4)

Are you kidding? Those two little YT videos I posted earlier have already been taken down ... they were serious about pay-per-view.
This is one of those tricky YT videos with embedded links ... you can try it, but I sure won't:

Lyds back in the Rolex top 10 and Fassi back over 200. A lot of people would have guessed that would go the other way a few years ago.
