This is old news by now, but the silver lining is that the reasoning is MAINLY the travel-related minefield getting into Canada. I assume many players are privately relieved, as it was on a dumb spot in the sked ... what is so hard about making it back-to-back with Portland?
The good news is that four USGA qualifiers in Canada (boys & girls junior, and men & women amateur) are going forward. The junior events are in Oshawa ONT (June 21) and the amateur events are in B.C. (July 5 & 6). The junior fields have been posted ... the only player I've seen before is Emily Zhu. The amateur fields are not up yet. I can't imagine anyone crossing into Canada to play these events, so there should be NO reason to cancel them.
