My hat's off to Ju Young Park for her come back from four down on the back nine. It wasn't that the other player gave it away, Ju Young won three of the holes with birdies. The biggest birdie was on eighteen to tie the Match. Ju Yeong Jung left her second shot in the fairway bunker on the first playoff hole. Ju Young put her approach shot within birdie range to win with par.
Min Ji Park looked to be in control of the Match even though it was close early. She got to three up on the back nine, before Han Sol Ji cut it to two with a birdie on fifteen. Min Ji made her only poor shot on sixteen to drop to one up. But Min Ji Park put her second close shot on eighteen to pretty much closed the deal.
I saw something that I thought wasn't legal. The eighteenth hole is elevated and you couldn't see balls on the green. Mi Ji hit first and Han Sol Ji caddie was on the green watching Min Ji ball land. I didn't know that you are allowed to do that.

This is gonna be tight - all square after 12 now. Ju Young is kinda scary (if you're a Min Ji fan) - not gonna give up.

Great shot by Ju Young on 14. She hit her drive next to a tree someone decided to plant in the middle of the fairway, but managed to hit her second onto the green (it rolled off the back, but still a better shot than Min Ji's from the center of the fairway).

Ugh. Ju Young got square, then Min Ji made like a twenty foot birdie to take a 1 up lead. On the next hole, Bob had a twenty footer to square and hit it way too hard, then missed the comebacker. She basically handed the tournament to Min Ji. I feel so bad for her. (it's dormie, but no way in heck Min Ji is going to lose two in a row).

Yup, Min Ji just put her approach on 17 to three feet. The end. I swear the people I root for never win this year...

It's over. The Mini Rocket cannot putt like Minor League Minjee, no how, no way. Too bad ... still looking for that first win.

Min Ji was so obviously the best remaining player that I was hoping for an upset just to keep it interesting. Congrats to her, but it sure would have been more fun if she had had to play at least one really strong opponent all week. Oh well, that's match play for you... And it's still a skill to win when you are supposed to, and she did that.
To be honest, although she seems like a perfectly fine young lady, I have to admit I would prefer almost any of the other top guns becoming the big name on tour. I just don't find her very interesting to watch. I like Da Yeon, Ha Na, Hyun Kyung, Lim, Hae Ran, Hye Jin, and of course my faves Ji Hyun Oh and Ayean Cho more. Maybe she'll grow on me, I don't know...
And of course, for all we know she's shot her wad this year and someone else will surge. We've seen that happen; a few years ago Ha Na Jang won a bunch early, then cooled off the rest of the year, for instance. But right now she is the It Girl, and has a big target on her back. This will be a new world for her as well.
