Sung Hyun & Yani need to watch The Rifleman, Season 1, Episode 4-- The Marshal. Watch it over & over again until you can make a cut. It's comforted me over the years.

So Yeon Ryu had a really good round with six birdies two bogeys. On the Broadcast she hit only one errant shot on hole fourteen to make bogey. She three putted eighteen for bogey after making a great birdie on the tough seventeenth hole. That turned a great round into a really good round. That has become a pattern for So Yeon. Making bogey on seventeen or eighteen with a great round going. But she also makes birdie on seventeen or eighteen to make cuts.
Sei Young Kim had a great round but also made a bogey on eighteen. Her round could have been lower except for two short birdie lip outs on aggressive putts. But she also make a lot of putts with that style of play. At nine under she has the Leader within reach.
Jin Young Ko, Jin Young Ko what else is there to say. Except that she is Ranked Number one and played like a number one golfer. With her seven birdies she had one bogey. The bogey was great, because she hit her second shot into a hazard. She got up and down with her fourth shot from the fairway.
A Lim Kim had an up and down round with four birdies and four bogeys.
Great to see Gabriela Ruffels finish with two birdies to get to minus five

Round 2 Today was almost like a Sister Highlight Reel. Tons of great coverage, and tons of great shots in that coverage. Perhaps the shot of the day came from Inbee on the 14th. How the HELL did she get out of that fairway bunker jam and give herself a tap-in birdie? Her bunker shot on 18 was almost as good. She's something else! Sei Young played an aggressive SYK round and was rewarded with a 10 under total, tied for 2nd. Jin Young played her best round this year. Even when she goofed on 17, she scrambled for an epic bogey. Here's a typical good shot: Jin Young approachSo Yeon also kept herself within range with a 67 and 7 under total, despite an annoying final hole bogey. And Lee6 got to 5 under, A Lim at 4 under; perhaps they aren't done, either. Sisters hwaiting!!!

Much more entertaining broadcast today. I'd love a showdown between the Young Ks on Sunday. Hopefully, Jess will follow little sis and shoot par or worse today.
My original pick this week was SYK and still feeling pretty good about it. Her putting style always makes me nervous, but she seems back to normal compared to the past couple weeks where she was just trying to jam it in the hole. JYK's iron game is looking scary though. Excited to see how So Yeon does over the weekend, her game is looking tight! Also excited for Hannah Green, really like her and think she's got mad potential. The pin placements they posted look tough so hopefully not going to end up with another -20-something event.
Maybe it's my Northern California roots talking, but that course is ugly and I don't envy them playing in that smog and noise. Bring on the Asian swing!!

That’s funny you’d say the course is ugly. The golf course geeks think it’s the best and most unique place they play in tour. This is a neat flyover with some of the history and design characteristics. youtu.be/DfHwtj-0coIIm not trying to change your mind. To each their own with golf courses.

The bunkers are indeed awesome. I guess it's mostly just how ugly I find everything about Los Angeles in general. With another backdrop, I'm sure I'd feel differently.

Jin Young Ko had a lot of birdies today, but more bogeys than usual. But she came through and made a great bogey on eighteen poor third shot. It looked like she would make a double after her fourth shot was long. But she being Jin Young made the long bogey putt.
So Yeon wasn't very sharp today, hitting only eight greens. But two pitch ins and twenty three putts really helped her score. She can be forgiven for missing the short putt on sixteen. Being tied for fifth place is really good.
Jeongeun Lee was only one under par. She made two bogeys on the front nine, dropped to minus three. She turned it around with three birdies no bogeys on the back nine. So she is in a tie for tenth place, so not bad.
All I can say is an imposter showed up as Sei Young Kim today. I suspect that she will forget it and go low tomorrow.

Round 3 By and large it was a solid day for the Sisters, but for the second day in a row, the final few holes cost them big time. Inbee made double on 18, Jin Young had to drain a long one to avoid that fate, Sei Young also struggled there. I was getting ready to celebrate a third round lead for Jin Young, but I guess I'll have to settle for a fourth round lead instead. She was really impressive today, and even when Korda looked like she was going to run away with things, Jin Young kept her head and stayed in it. Sei Young has these weeks where she makes tons of mistakes, and other weeks where she seems unstoppable. Inbee isn't dialed in alas, and A Lim completely collapsed. So Yeon had some great short game today, so I'm hoping we'll see some great stuff from her tomorrow. Lee6 is fittingly at 6 under and has a shot at her best finish of the year. Sisters hwaiting!!!

Loved to see JYK play like the badass #1 she is, but gotta say my heart broke a little for SYK. She looked so sad after 18. I'm sure she'll sort it out, but still painful to watch. Never seemed to recover mentally from that disaster on #8. Overall, she just seems too eager to win.
I'm pretty confident JYK will get it done, but of the Kordas, I would prefer Jess to win than Nelly (just to spite all the talking heads, and I've always thought she had twice the mental game of little sis), so pretty psyched for this final round. Hope SYK makes the best of things and gets back to top 5.So Yeon just has to keep up the pace and she'll be there. Ha, curious what Inbee will do as always. Great for Tiffany Chan, hope she hangs in for a good finish.

Some eye-openers for me this week.
1) golf starts on wednesday now 2) Inbee #2 in the world 3) Top 3 in world rankings are Korean again. This first happened in 2019 with JYK, SHP and 6, and it was the first time that any one country had ever occupied the top 3. Bravo!
