This one starts Friday. A little smaller field of 108 compared to earlier events and the cut is reduced to top-50 plus ties. They'll have a Monday qualifier with 51 players going for "x" numbers of spots.
The star here is the venue, the Kawana Hotel Golf Course (Fuji course) ... an excerpt from an article listing the top-100 non-U.S. courses:
C.H. Alison's 1936 design for Japan's first golf resort has long been dubbed the "Pebble Beach of Japan," but the layout is far more mountainous. That's evident from the opening hole, which drops down a tumbling fairway framed by twisted pines to a green with Sagami Bay as its backdrop.
Various Fuji TV channels will cover it every day LIVE only.
Regular broadcasts (Japan time):

Six of the eleven players who passed the Monday qualifier were amateurs, including Ayaka Tezuka (below), age 15 ... and The Unknown Korean was a surprising flop at +3.

Solar Lee is getting into the limited JLPGA Tournaments. So I wonder why she decided to get status on the KLPGA Tour.
Coming off her top ten finish on the main JLPGA Tour. Kotone Hori is banished back to the Step-Up Tour.

The ex-Superstar is finally posting regularly for her 3 fans but, apparantly, at the expense of her golf performance. https://www.instagram.com/p/CN7UUMEMZA8 Solar says: A prestigious golf course with a long history. It's so cool. Since I moved by bus this week, it seems like I've been training for a field and it's fun.

In other news, the scrub tour is finishing up a three-rounder on Saturday -
Two good players, Kotone Hori and Karen Gondo, made the cut ... with continued luck this year, they can ditch the one dollar hamburgers and return to bluefin tuna.
Look who is two shots out of the lead in 2nd place going into Saturday ... go Sinn Féin Simin Feng, go! Not sure about the irons ... I'm guessing Callaway. She had some nice stix from Honma a while back.

Miyuu Yamashita ... when is the last time a rookie won in back-to-back events? I don't know, I'm too lazy to look it up.
Hikari Tanabe ... whatever she wants is okay by me.
Bo Mee Lee (E)
Miyuki Takeuchi (-2)
Eimi Koga (E)
Chae Young Yoon (E)
Sayaka Takahashi ... maybe she plays better without the lead going into Sundays

The broadcast started with Mone Iname having a multi-shot lead at the 13th hole ... "this thing is over", I thought ... and it was, I watched the KLPGA broadcast mostly. More pics to come later.

It was reported earlier in the week that Saku-chan put a new shaft in her putter. I guess she finally figured it out on Sunday with the event's lowest score of 64. She still leads the scoring, points and money stats.

I missed this earlier ... SW Bae aced #17 (172 yards) on Saturday, worth ¥6 million (about $55,525). She says she wants to buy furniture, a fridge and a TV for her home in Japan. She finished at -1.
Yuka Yasuda picked up first career top ten as a pro.
Eight Head (E)
The low am was Shiho Kuwaki (+2)
Erika Hara (+1)
Bryson DeKikuchi or Erika Hurst (-3)
Hikari Fujita at #1
Ritsuko Ryu at #16
