In Gee Chun and Jeongeun Lee6 did not have a good Tournament, minus eleven tied for forty third. However they both had good finishes, Jeongeun four birdies last six, In Gee three birdies last five. Maybe it's a positive going into the next Tournament or not.

Round 4 Me yesterday: "There simply is no way, no matter how low you go, you can catch up with them, because at least one of them is sure to shoot a 65. " Lydia's score today: 65. See, even I'm right some of the time! Congrats to Lydia on the win, but this makes the third event in a row where the result seemed pre-ordained from the start of the day. And amazingly, other than Inbee's win at Kia, the Koreans have not seriously challenged for any of the wins this year. I sure hope we will see a change in that trajectory soon! Once Ko got to 23 under I knew she was going to win, since she has had like one bogey in the past six rounds. So I then started to focus on the top five, and fortunately there was a lot to get excited about. A Lim Kim (I have to keep reminding myself it's 'Ah' Lim, they are starting to wear me down with that mispronounced name) was simply superb. A nice eagle right off the bat, a front nine 30, and it looked like she might be having a career day. Alas, she ran out of gas after that, but still got a top ten, her first decent result since joining the tour. It was nice to see her smiling up a storm, too. Inbee and Sei Young took over from there. Sei Young managed to shoot a 65 despite some painful short birdie misses. Gee, all she needed was a 58 to tie Lydia. Whatever, it was still a good week for her. Inbee, meanwhile, LOVES the risk/reward holes. She's leading that race despite not being in the top 100 in driving distance. That's insane. Today she hit her approach to about four feet and drained the eagle. That was hardcore. She was six under on the final six holes. T2 for her, too. She and SYK are breathing down Jin Young's neck. Inbee plays the risk/rewardWe also got to see the best round of her career from jtibs! Just missed a 62. Even on this course that's pretty good. Top ten for Amy Yang as well. So Yeon Ryu and Hyo Joo weren't great but still managed T17. So Yeon only shot a 68, which should be good but is practically shameful here. The tie helps Hyo Joo keep her spot on the Olympic team, as she thoroughly beat Six and Namdalla was absent. Other news: Lee5 beat Lee6; In Gee had four OK rounds but needed at least one low round for a shot at a top ten and didn't get it. Can we please make the next event harder? Please? Sisters hwaiting!!!

The production crew sucks as bad as the commentary crew. I kept waiting for some stats to be shown that might help put Lydia's latest win in perspective but they showed nothing. 16 career wins is kind of a big deal but you'd never know watching yesterday's broadcast. Even when she was putting on the last hole, the header simply read "Leader - Lydia Ko - For Birdie"-- TGC cannot even afford real-time on-screen information anymore. Sad.
I have to say shame on A Lim. You cannot give American people a single "A" and expect them to say "Ah". Will never happen. You need at least three H's in there. Ahhh Lim Kim.

Everyone was too disappointed that Nelly played like crap and too busy avoiding acknowledging that to focus on Lydia. Pathetic. (How can anyone who followed 2018-19 be surprised to see Nelly not close on Sunday?) Especially sucks when I've seen more excitement than usual from PGA fans about Lydia's win. Considering the obvious parallels with the other 2015 Player of the Year, Jordan Spieth, they missed such a huge opportunity to promote the women's game. Lydia's adorable mom was even there for her win. Agree about the "A".. do we know of A Lim herself minds the mispronunciation? IMO "A" sounds totally badass, lol so alpha, I think she should keep it.

One more comment on A Lim Kim...
As much as I hate to agree with the announcers, it was really cool to see her witout the mask (and not under 4R major pressure) and see how expressive she is when playing. She's got an absolutely adorable smile, nice humor, and a lot of passion for the game.
While waaaaay too much is made of both Korean players tending to show less emotion on the course and how many people share the same or similar names.. it does make it hard for English speaking Westerners, like myself, to really get into the players and have favorites. It was more animated players, like Sei Young Kim (how fun is it to watch her win?!), that got me to make an effort to learn about the players.. and about Korea as a country because even though I'm decently educated and generally fascinated with other countries and cultures, I knew jack shit about Korea. Once I learned a bit and payed more attention, it became easy to see how many Koreans are quite expressive. I mean it's laughable to me now that they call Sung Hyun Park robotic. I mean, she tries, but it's often easy to see where her head is at.
So, anyway, of course I'd love for her be successful for her own good, but I think she could also be great for the game and in making Korean players more popular with non-Koreans.
And, again, the incorrect "A" pronunciation is so badass and I hope she doesn't mind and embraces it.

One thing I don't like about the 'A' pronunciation is that it makes it sound like A. Lim Kim -- making people think it's an abbreviation. Yeah, it's short for 'Ah'. I recall Grant mentioning during the Open that A Lim herself confirmed that you should pronounce the name as 'A'. I wouldn't be surprised that, if she did say that, it was just to be polite or because she didn't really understand the question. In any event, Americans got used to pronouncing 'Ryu' as 'Yoo', so 'Ah' should not be a big step. But as I've also said, Koreans choose spellings that cause their names to be pronounced differently in the West; the most prominent example is Park, where the actual Korean name is more like bbahk (no 'r'). But no one says Grace Bahk or Inbee Bahk. I just wonder if A Lim was aware of this when she chose that spelling (assuming it was she who chose it). As for the mask, I agree that it's better to be able to see their faces and reactions, but I hate the 'mask shaming' that some people do online. Crap, if they want to wear a mask, let 'em.

Ha, I almost didn't say anything because I hate the mask shaming so much. But, well, that sucks too and I think these moments matter.

Another thing I just realized: We've had three events won by three different players with 'Ko' as the first two letters of their last names ... and none of them was world #1 Jin Young Ko. Jin Young has to be ready to join that club soon!

I believe there was a time when Jin Young and Brooks KOepka ruled the rankings.

Lydia and Jin Young. They remind me of the wresting great Koko B. Ware. Beware of the Ko's!

The Malaysian golf rags are coocoo for Cocoa Puffs over KT's finish. Hawaiian high for Kelly Tan with T22 finish at Lotte Championship

Kelly now heads back to mainland USA for the coming week’s Hugel-Air Premia LA Open in Los Angeles, followed by the US Women’s Open qualifier at Half Moon Bay Golf Links near San Francisco.
“I’m excited for LA to keep the momentum going, and then I will play my US Open qualifier just outside of San Francisco the Monday after,” she noted.

Regarding the pronunciation of A Lim Kim's name, it reminds me of the Jai Alai story arc in "MAD MEN". Don Draper remarks "American are going to have trouble with that J." And it's true! I'm old enough to read about jai alai back in the late '60's and early '70's and I had trouble with the J. Now with so many Spanish words becoming familiar, it's 2nd nature to pronounce the J like an H.
We can hold out hope we can pronounce Korean names properly (what with KPop and all that). Besides, the REALLY correct way to pronounce it is Kim A Lim. To me, it seems more natural to say "Ah" when it's in the middle.
