The start of Round One has been delayed because a tourney official (or officials) came out positive with the bug. No word yet on when they'll start. A bunch of players are DNS - don't know if it's connected - Queen Shiho, Aoi Ohnishi, Misuzu Narita, Mami Fukuda and Yuka Yasuda.

A lot of early wake-up calls tomorrow.

If you enjoy bleeding, here's a random sampling of the JLPGA trying to play the 1st hole, which separated the ladies from the girls. It's a par-4 of 380 yards, dogleg-right with the second shot over a fenced-off bottomless pit penalty area ... and the flag on the right. For the 75 players who played it, the scoring average was 4.3866.
Part One -
Part Two -
The view at #1
Sayaka Takahashi (+1 thru 13 holes) reviewing her yardage book at #1 for her second shot. She was in the first group of the first video. While most players were going long and/or left with their approaches (and a few were in the gorge), Takahashi (per a news article) "accidentally" stuck it to two meters with an 8-iron from 135 yards ... made the putt. All that was missing was Johnny Miller saying, "This is a player, right here. This is a first-class, world-class player." She is too good not to win on this tour in 2021. The only other player on the videos that matched this shot was SW Bae, but she missed her birdie putt.
Eight Head (+4 thru 13 holes) made the videos and tripled #1
Natsuka Hori (+4 thru 10 holes) made the videos
Kana Nagai (E thru five holes)
Sky Kim
Karen Tsuruoka (E thru 13 holes) was in the first group at #1 ... this was the second time I've seen her on video and it was the second time that she crushed her drive way past her playing partners. Where has she been hiding?
Momoko Osato (+4 thru 11 holes) made the videos

Round One resumed at 7:33 AM on Saturday and these players are taking a beating ... only nine of them are under par ... but one of them is Sky Kim. Solar Lee was +1 thru 13 holes on Friday ... and got killed Saturday morning, finishing at 78. The current cut line is +4.
Jae Eun Chung (+8 thru 15 holes)

The scores have stopped updating, so I think they are done for the day. Sunset in Kobe was at 6:27 PM and 25 players have not completed Round Two. The projected cut worsened to +7, but notice how the class rose to the top:
POS PLAYER SCORE HOLE TODAY 1R 2R 3R TOTAL 1T Seonwoo Bae -3 *F -5 74 67 141 1T Eri Okayama -3 *F +1 68 73 141 1T Mone Inami -3 *F -3 72 69 141 1T Sakura Koiwai -3 *F -3 72 69 141 5T Rie Tsuji -2 F 0 70 72 142 5T Haruka Morita -2 *6 0 70 70 7 Ha-Neul Kim -1 *F 0 71 72 143 8T Hee-Kyung Bae 0 F 0 72 72 144 8T Ritsuko Ryu 0 *F -3 75 69 144 8T Miyuu Yamashita 0 *8 0 72 72
Here's a 30-minute video of another "gem", the par-4 18th hole (400 yards) with a second shot over the Snake River canyon, I guess ... it appears they didn't receive the Beth Ann Nichols memo on making golf courses easy for women pros. It begins with Min Young Lee.
Solar got killed again ... she hasn't broken par once in twelve rounds in 2021
Sakura Koiwai
Sky Kim
Rie Tsuji
Momo Yoshikawa (+6 with two holes left in Round Two)
Ayaka Matsumori (+6)
Bo Mee Lee (+12) and Teresa Lu (+2)
Megumi Kido had her sister on the bag and Ting Ting dropped out

It was a letdown for Saku-chan fans on HOW she played the 18th hole, which was used during the playoff. With the flag in the back, her three approach shots duriing regulation and the playoffs were ALL short of the green. She's still first in money, points and scoring avg.
SW Bae
Reika Usui (+3)
Pei Ying Tsai (+3)

The good news was Natsuka Hori had twenty six and twenty seven putts. The bad news she only hit four greens on both days. She has played some really good golf before. I wonder if she had an injury or swing change. That causing her to play this bad.
