No mask for players. Same oh, Hyun Kyung Park making long putts. Hee Jeong Lim missed a makeable birdie putt.

Hopefully this is one of the last tournaments the other Ryu has to bother playing in Korea. Start to Monday qualify in the US and then redeem yourself at Olympic. You only get so many turns on the merry-go-round.

Hae Ran let you down today, fanofseri. And am I the only one on here who prefers Hyun Kyung to Hee Jeong? I sense a lot of Hee Jeong love on here. Hana Jang - man, I think maybe I'd never go back to LPGA if I were her - clean up on KLPGA, nab the occasional win or good finish in LPGA Asian swing events...

Round 1
It was tough out there! Only 5 players broke par! Ji Hyun Oh shot an 83, I think the worst score of her career. Not the best way to start the new season.
1 Ha Na Jang 68 -4 2 Hyun Kyung Park, Da Yeon Lee 69 -3 4 Ju Yeon In 70 -2 5 Ga Young Lee, Hye Jin Choi 71 -1 7 Hee Joon Kim, Stella Kim, Bo Ah Kim, So Mi Lee, Su Yeon Jang, Seul Ki Jung, Su Ji Kim 72 Even
Notables: 14 So Young Lee 73 +1 18 Ayean Cho, Cecilia Cho, Seung Yeon Lee, Min Sun Kim 74 +2 30 Se Hee Lee (R), Hee Jeong Lim 75 +3 45 Song Yi Ahn, Min Ji Park 76 +4 60 Hae Ran Ryu, Ran Hong 77 +5 75 Kyeong Bae 78 +6 88 Gyeol Park 79 +7 94 Jae Hee Kim (R) 80 +8 108 Ji Hyun Oh 83 +11

I watched a little of the broadcast, which focused largely on the group of Hye Jin Choi, Hae Ran Ryu and Ayean Cho. When I started watching, Choi was tied with Jang at 4 under (Jang was done), Ryu was 2 under, and Cho was +4. The conditions must have been tough in the afternoon, because everyone struggled, especially Ryu, who made several mistakes while I watched. I'll give credit to Ayean, who fought hard and went under par during the worst of the conditions: I saw one birdie, and she had two other putts that scared the hole but missed.
Hopefully the conditions will be a little more benign in round 2!

They've started broadcasting the KLPGA in Japan, I think for the first time? I've seen a lot of tweets about it, like this one: tweet linkThe "translation" reads in part: "It is nice to be able to see in real time the players who are said to be the strongest and most beautiful in the world"

I seem to be the only one here that favors Hee Jeong Lim over Hyun Kyung Park. I love Hee Jeong Lim ball striking and she has a great Personality. Happyfan didn't post any Photos of Hee Jeong Lim. So I guess that remark was meant for me. They treated Hye Jin Choi group like they were Leading the Final Round of the Tournament. They were shown almost every shot that they made. On the Par five hole number five they kept the Camera on Hye Jin waiting in the Fairway. Instead of showing So Mi Lee and Hee Jeong Lim making birdies. I only watched the first two hours so maybe they changed and included other groups.
Not a good start for Hee Jeong Lim with three sixes and one birdie. I am not to sure why she made a double bogey on number four. They only showed her hitting her fourth shot into the par four. I am surprised that she made bogey on the back nine par fives. Because she is usually great with her wedges.
Mighty Mite Seung Yeon Lee made three bogeys on the front nine. Came back with one birdie and no bogeys on the back nine.

CS Sky A of Japan is carrying every KLPGA event this year, I think. For Lotte, they'll carry the first three rounds at 2 PM thru 5 PM (Japan time, which is the same as ROK). Sunday's round will be 1 PM thru 4 PM. This channel is usually quite good at keeping its broadcasts OFF YouTube, but if any slip in, try this search:
ロッテレンタカー女子オープン
I would call this a curiosity search, since the SBS Golf stream is working perfectly.

Well Hee Jeong Lim had a good front nine with three birdies and no bogeys. However when she turned the corner things changed. She shot forty on her back nine to give those birdies back plus one.. She made bogey on two par fives again. On eighteen Hee Jeong had a four foot par putt on the same line that So Mi Lee had. So Mi made hers and Hee Jeong missed a shorter putt for par. Hee Jeong Lim and Jeongeun Lee6 needs to improve their mental game. Because they are two really good golfers that's not taking advantage of their Talent. That being said they are young and have played at a high level before, so they can turn it around.

Ayean Cho had a nice under par round today, and at this point stands tied for 10th. Ji Hyun Oh shot the same score, but she's so far back that she has almost 0% chance of making the cut. Still, it's nice to make up for that hideous 83.
