I’ll have to go to this event to see why it’s so popular. Every hole looks the same. It's always been my least favorite Major*. I'll never understand why so many seem to love it. * at least until they forced the Evian to be one. I like Evian, just not as a Major... I think what's special about ANA is that us the only women's major that has its own unique history and isn't a version of a men's event, like the Opens and PGA. (and, lol, as you point out Evian is a joke.) The golf media is simple-minded and annoying as usual, but I get why it's special for the players. It's the only major that's truly their own.

There needs to be a major that goes to Australia, Korea, Japan and Thailand, too. Fanofseri’s best memory of this place is sneaking into the bar.

Round 3 Did they show Jin Young Ko even once? The bias against the Koreans is maddening.
You should have watched the rogue video ... the New Ko was there at least once, maybe twice. TV Wowow does not rely 100% on GC's cameras and direction.
******
So nice of MK Sports to find The Rocket (+1) ... but they couldn't find the bread crumbs left behind by MHL.

KT won't have to worry about being slow-played or F-bombed by Crusty today, since she tees off by herself this morning at 7:55am.
It's a good thing too...she can be showered and on her way to the CM Pro-Am down the road before the ANA leaders even tee off.
She'll have plenty of time for a nap in her Pechanga Casino Resort hotel room this afternoon to be fresh for two days of poolside pairing parties, "awards" bashes and even some golf.

I've seen this script now several times: a player who has never shown the slightest indication of this level of talent suddenly can't do anything wrong for an entire tournament. Lindberg or Popov redux. Oh well, the Koreans can't win every Major, and they have won the past three. I lurk on this forum, which is maddening, because when you're not selling players who weren't born in Korea short, the rest of ya'll are fetishizing players based on looks and style. Nothing like grown men, on a forum focusing on Korean (Asian) women, when half of ya'll are talking about their looks or how they are dressed. The conversation about how society looks at Asian Women, and fetishizes them, starts here, a forum where you guys are supposedly fans. lol With that said, if any one dared to call a Korean player with Patty's credentials, 7 NCAA wins, T5 at the USWO, 3 wins on the Symetra Tour immediately after turning pro, as someone who 'has never shown the slightest indication of this level of talent', you'd be crying about a lack of coverage or respect. While I agree the Korean players don't get nearly enough of the respect they deserve, having some sort of perspective and fairness would be clutch. But hey, you're not one of the many posters here who focuses on looks and skirt length, so I guess that's a win?

The compulsory pond-jump is stain on professional sports IMO. The one thing I hate most about this tournament, is that some entrants will be effectively disqualified from winning, because many people in the world simply are not comfortable doing a performative jump for joy into a pool. I am convinced that any player who in the back of her mind fears being put through this ritual will finds a way to not finish first. This is such a bizarre and unreasonable prerequisite for winning a golf tournament. You think I am kidding around here, I am dead serious. If Sung Hyun Park ever finishes first here, I'll admit that this theory is wacked out and then eat my hat.

The ANA has always been my favorite Major. I guess since I had gone to it twenty straight years It also a had Major Quality set up until they started changing it. By not letting the rough grow, making holes shorter and lately removing trees. The sixteen hole used to be pivotal and caught many golfers. You had to avoid the big tree on the right. I was following the last group Seri Park and Suzanne Pettersen. I remember Seri and Suzanne were leading Pressel by one. They both hit their drives behind the tree. They both made a double bogey I believe. The bottom line is that they gifted the win to Morgan Pressel. She had finished the round and was waiting in the Club House. It was such a downer because I thought Seri would finally win it.

Where did you come up with the observation that the members of this Forum only focus on skirt length. With your statement maybe, that's your focus. The Korean golfers takes pride in how they dress and there is nothing wrong with showing them. HappyFan created this Forum because the Korean/Asian Golfers would be ignored in Main string Media.

My fashion comments have nothing to do w/ "skirt length". It has to do w/ the bland and boring making for an uninspiring TV show. For example, a solid blue bottom, top and hat is just not trying, which is my point. Definitely can be a delicate subject but let's not mischaracterize. (I should probably up my own on course style before commenting about others. )

I haven't seen the "skirt length" and "fetishizing" comments you're projecting onto this forum. But, interestingly, you seem to feel disparaging Paula Creamer's looks is fair game. I'm sure PC lightens her locks based on how dark her eyebrows are.

Lots of low scores on the early rounds. They are turning this Major into a non Major. Way to go Beth Ann.

If Patty slips this could be a shootout.

This part I agree with ... Patty T. brought some legitimate juice to the LPGA tour (I think she was also #1 on WAGR, for whatever that's worth). Unfortunately, the GIC pushed her to the side when Fasi and Bianca P. came along and started hitting 500-yard drives ... a lot of good that did - two trunk slammers this week.
As for today's golf, the Old Ko could shoot 62 and I think she'd still lose. Patty T. looks completely unafraid of this golf course ... and completely bored.
BTW, MHL scored a two on the par-4 12th ... haven't seen a video of it ... I'll bet a rogue TV Wowow video will have it.

I said earlier that the ANA was playing like a non Major. I guess So Yeon Ryu and Jeongeun Lee6 didn't get the Email.
Jeongeun had four birdies but six bogeys. I am starting to become concerned about her.
So Yeon started with bogey on three, double on four, bogey on five. Turned it around with birdies on nine, ten, eleven, but finished with three straight bogeys. I'm not to worried about So Yeon, because she can forget the past and bounce back.

The criticism about not taking Patty seriously are somewhat valid (although lots of NCAA players and Symetra stars don't pan out), she had a pretty good start to the year before ANA. Also, Popov is turning out to be a solid player on tour. But the fetishising, on the surface it may seem like it, but most on here are pretty serious fans with deep knowledge of the sport. Clothing sponsors are a big part of keeping the sport going in Asia, Korea and Japan especially - do you follow the sponsorship threads? It's a fine line, but I think we all stay on the right side of it here. Appreciation, not tongue out ogling. Except maybe for Hyunju! (kidding, sort of, haha - but she can play! ...and ya, I know, not the right climate for jokes - but hey, lighten up, Francis) And this forum is truly a great and needed counter to all the rah rah go USA commentary of most US media coverage of LPGA. So I don't mind the occasional jabs at the US players. And come on, who could love Stacy or Lexi?
