It's official Jin Young Ko surprisingly missed the cut. She could only manage one birdie and with one bogey and sixteen pars.
Jeongeun Lee6 came close to missing the cut shooting five over today. A birdie on her last hole saved her from missing the cut.
Actually it was a tough day all around for the Sisters. Sei Young Kim and Eun-Hee Ji at minus two were the only ones under par today. They had seven made cuts and five missed cuts.
Plus two under on that course shouldn't have been that hard to make. But I guess on any given day, you can fail as well as succeed.
Edit: In Gee Chun got to minus four but finished with three straight bogeys.

Another note, good news So Yeon has signed up for the KIA Classic, YEA. Bad news she knocked Kelly Tan out.

Leona McGuire T6. This may be the week I finally see her hit a golf ball on TV. Getty only snapped her bag yesterday ... there is truth to the rumor that she exists, I've seen her play in person a couple of times ... she's got game (twin sis does not).

Round 2
Pretty much an unmitigated disaster for the Sisters. Jin Young misses the cut for only the 2nd time in her LPGA career after following her terrible first day with another mediocre outing. Lee6 had a freefall from top ten to the cut line, although she made birdie on the last to just make the cut. And In Gee, who had a decent day, finished with three straight bogies to drop out of any chance of winning.
I'm calling this a week and bailing. Brush yourselves off, Sisters, hit the practice range, and come back next time ready to hwait!!!!

Putting any player into a grouping with the golden-haired Saviors of the LPGA is tough. Dealing with the overhyped media frenzy and the Kordas chatty and giggly demeanor (to each other) would knock any "third man out" off their game. Credit to Jin Young for soldiering through two days of that.

Big week for the GIC w/ Kup-show in contention.
I hope Annika signed her prize money over to Golf Week last week.

I get the feeling Albane is going to marry a billionaire's kid and retire very early.

Really good Tournament solo fourth for In Gee Chun. The only standout player for the "Sisters."
Hee Young Park reminded me of her nickname "Rocket" She rocketed up the Leaderboard the first six holes with four birdies. But she rocketed back down with a four bogey, double bogey finish.
Jeongeun Lee had two good rounds, sixty nine and sixty eight. She also had two forgettable rounds of seventy seven and eighty. No doubt she will have the really good rounds going forward. She is too good of a Golfer to worry too much about those bad rounds.
Sei Young Kim had a six birdie round but three bogeys. However a tie for fourteen without her "A" game is not so bad.

Round 4 Congrats to In Gee Chun on achieving her third straight top ten to start the year! How rare is that for her? The last time she managed that feat was when she had 4 straight from July to September of 2016, culminating in her win at the Evian that year. She already has more top tens this year than she had in all of 2020 or 2019. What's most encouraging is how she rallied from the poor ending in round 2, where she finished with three straight bogies. On the weekend she had back-to-back 69s. She also averaged 255 yards driving distance for the week, tons better than the ~240 average she had been regularly posting in recent years. Super start to her year! Other than In Gee, not many highlights for the Sisters. Lee6 had another horrendous day, even worse than her 77 of earlier this week. Her 80 is one of the worst rounds of her entire career. Sei Young never caught fire this week, but still ended up with a tidy t-14th. Sisters hwaiting!!!

Not only did Austin Ernst run away with this tournament, nobody really scared Kupcho for second. In Gee was the only player in the top 10 to finish with a round in the 60s. In fact, Yealimi Noh had the round of the day with a 68.
