Tonight at 7pm ET the 2020 LPGA Rolex Awards Ceremony is supposed to air LIVE, with live virtual appearances by the winners. It should appear in the box below if the LPGA intern doesn't screw it up.
[HappyFan: I moved this into its own thread because it seemed important enough to warrant one. Thanks!]

Not a bad show - better than I expected...although unhappy they didn't talk to the OTHER two major winners.

Mirim Lee has been completely ignored by the American media from the minute she got out of Poppy's Pond. I don't recall any stories written about her, any Golf Channel segments focusing on her, or even once where she was put into a TV-friendly pairing during a tournament. I guarantee you if Henderson or Korda had won it would have been very different. Popov's treatment is a good example of how they treat someone they want to market; she has been front and center in stories, coverage, and ballyhoo ever since her win.
At least A Lim had the drama of will-she-join-the-tour, so even though she was largely ignored in favor of Olson, I suspect/hope she will get a little more attention this season.

Popov's treatment is a good example of how they treat someone they want to market; she has been front and center in stories, coverage, and ballyhoo ever since her win. And she got that full-blown star treatment even though Popov popped off in all her interviews about every perceived LPGA slight after her WBO win...with Beth Ann her biggest cheerleader. Imagine the backlash if A Lim complained like that about the LPGA not bending their rules so she could get an immediate exemption into every tournament.
