Oooh Golf Channel on-site coverage on Wednesday. Is that normal? This year is extra special I suppose, Paula, Michelle AND Lucy Li.

Good luck to all the Sisters this week! In a lot of ways, this week sets up really well for the Sisters. They tend to do well on tight, hilly courses like the ones they often played at home. It seems likely that the bombers will not have any big advantage this week either. And Koreans have done so well all these years at this event. In fact, they have won every odd-year US Women's Open dating back to 2009, a trend I'd love to see continue! I wish they were coming in here with more success this season, but sometimes it just takes one week to turn the year around. Here's hoping that this is that week! Perhaps the Sister with the most at stake this week is So Yeon. She has been playing great, this course looks right up her alley, and a great finish or win here could help send her to the Olympics (even the course is called 'Olympic'. Omen?). She and Inbee look best prepared, but the way things have been going this year, it's hard to make any predictions. Also rooting to see if In Gee can contend, and hope that Jin Young and Lee6 are in the hunt. Six has managed two great Opens in a row, what better place to come out of her semi-funk? Lastly, let's keep an eye on A Lim and Da Yeon. To be honest, A Lim is not on her ideal track, but I hope she can at least make the cut in her defense. The test for Da Yeon is to see if she has the skill to hang with this group. Whatever happens, it should be a good learning experience for her. Hwaiting!

Watching this on SBS Golf ... I assume they are carrying the GC video feed. I don't have to listen to Mushmouth Mac ... addition by subtraction.
The Holmdel Hotshot just made two straight birdies, now leads at -5 thru 16 holes. She usually has daddy on the bag during USGA qualifiers, but now that she is playing The Main Room, she has someone who is probably a pro or a club looper.

So Yeon Ryu has some work to do after a plus three round. Four bogeys and a double bogey is not the start she wanted. She hit only nine greens, maybe 236 yards driving distance had something to do with it. Comparison Jin Young Ko diving average was 261 yards, I am not sure how long that she has played with those Titleist Clubs. I don't remember seeing her with them before, or I just didn't pay attention.
Still she can also bounce back tomorrow with a great round. Jin Young Ko, Jeongeun Lee6 @-1 and Inbee Park even par are ok. Jin Young Ko only missed two greens, but had thirty two putts. In Gee Chun also has work to do, four bogeys, zero birdies. She hit only ten greens, with driving distance of 229 yards.

Kira Dixon: Were you tracking where you were on the leaderboard? Were you aware of your score in relation to others?
Megha Ganne: Yeah, of course. I don't know how others say they don't look at the leaderboard. I feel like they're lying.
