It will be June 3-6 at The Olympic Club in SF. U.S. qualifying locations are set:
The .pdf application form will be posted during the week of February 15.
Qualifying sites in Japan, Korea, UK, and China are TBD. I don't see why these locations should be an issue ... it's the players who succeed that have to figure out all the hoops to jump through to get here.
Spring Lake GC in NJ was on the qualifier list last year, before it was cancelled, but they'll get another crack at it this year. I've never been there before ... although I just traversed its driveway to the clubhouse via Google Maps. I'd like to think I can visit there on May 10 as a civilian without being hassled ... I'll dress like a teaching pro.

The .pdf application form to be released on Feb. 17 should include all the qualifying locations. I don't know how many will be international, but I dug up one of them ... Thu., April 22 at Dream Park CC, about 25 km west of Seoul, near the coast.

The official form is now posted and the only additional qualifying site is at Yokohama CC on Monday, April 26. There are two courses there and they'll have 168 available spots. The final qualifying site count is 24, although the form has numbered them from 1 thru 25 ... the number 8 has been skipped, probably a typo.
A couple of unusual player exemptions from the form:
17. The top player from the 2020 China LPGA Tour Order of Merit who is not otherwise exempt as of April 14, 2021 (close of entries).(NOTE: Blank entries will be filed by the USGA for players who become exempt after the close of entries.)
18. Top finishers from the Ladies European Tour Investec South African Women’s Open. The number of spots available will be determined at a later date.(NOTE: Blank entries will be filed by the USGA for players who become exempt after the close of entries.)
It looks like that South African event is serving as a substitute for the qualifier event that would take place in England during normal times.
Two important dates: April 14 and May 17. If you are in the top-75 of the Rolex Rankings on either day, you are in.

A Korean should win this tournament without much problem. I imagine Whan will show up. I'll ask him why he didn't put Lorena in the Hall.

The link above has the REVISED qualifying info ... the qualifier in Korea was cancelled, leaving 23 sites in all. A total of 1,595 entries made it by the deadline, the oldest being Laura Baugh (65). Juli Inkster will try to qualify at Half Moon Bay on April 26.
Hey fanofseri, get out to Brentwood CC on May 3 (spectators permitted, just wear mask when you're near people) ... field includes:
AVD Ryann O'Toole Troy Mullins Andrea Lee Demi Runas (HS teammate of JTibs) Amari Avery Haley Moore Robynn Ree
Leona Maguire is in the April 26 field at Morongo GC ... I didn't realize she was only #118 on the Rolex Rankings ... playing a lot better than that lately.

A few more of the qualifier fields have been posted:
Atlanta, GA - May 3
If pedigree means anything, Min Seo Kwak and Katelyn Dambaugh should grab the first two spots. One of the amateurs is ex-LPGAer Katie Futcher. The plow horse pros include Jean Reynolds, Emma Jandel, Amelia Lewis and elderly Kim Williams. A couple of ANWA players are here, Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and Ana Pelaez Trivino.
Dedham, MA - May 5
It looks like Christina Kim went qualifier shopping and it may pay off as there will be only 40 players here ... and 39 of them have no accomplishments close to Xtina. The main threats will be hanger-on Prima Thammaraks and the wood chopper from Boston "Charlestown, North End", Alison Walshe. The other Pressel is here, as well as Symetra foot soldiers Riley Rennell and Laura Wearn. Anina Ku of Harvard U. (via Ridge HS in NJ) will lead the brainiac division.
West Palm Beach, FL - May 11
A lot of LPGAers here ... Pressel, Chella, Yamaguchi, Stoelting, JM Green, Holmqvist, Aza and Valenzuela. Tour transients include Julieta Granada, Shasta A., Kyle Roig and Jenny Suh. Ams include Grace Kim and Ina Kim-Schaad. Michelle McGann will bring up the rear from the wrong fairways.

Julieta will play after just giving birth earlier this month.

Suzuka Yamaguchi was tied for last place because Yani made birdie on eighteen. That was Yani claim to fame of not being solo dead last again.

As of April 14, these foreign tour players were in the Rolex top-75 and automatically qualify for the USWO ... whether or not they want to play in it is another question.
KLPGA - Hae Ran Ryu Hana Jang Hye Jin Choi Hee Jeong Lim Min Ji Park So Mi Lee Da Yeon Lee Hyun Kyung Park Ayean Cho So Young Lee
JLPGA - Ayaka Furue Ai Suzuki Mone Inami Ji Yai Shin Yuka Saso Seon Woo Bae Sakura Koiwai Min Young Lee Momoko Ueda
Na Rin An missed at #78, but she'll get another chance when the USGA looks at the top-75 again on May 17.

There's a KLPGA tournament the same week as USWO, that means we won't see any KLPGA players this year. USGA mentioned nineteen of the top twenty players have committed to play; my guess is Hae Ran Ryu, #19, is the only exception. If Hae Ran isn't coming, none will.

Ah yes, the issue of "punishment" ... we haven't mentioned that in quite a while. But, nothing has changed ... the KLPGA is a great set of golfers directed and/or pushed around by bush league management. Incidentally, Hae Ran Ryu has decided to pass up the "riches" of the Lotte Open (total purse approx. $715K) and take a crack at the USWO (total purse $5.5 million). Hye Jin Choi and Da Yeon Lee have made the same decision. I don't see any of these three winning. You know who I think could win it if she put her petty provincialism to the side and entered? The Hulk! U.S. golf is no mystery to her and LPGAers shouldn't scare her. She has the game and experience to win a bloodbath, assuming the USGA sets up Olympic hard enough to kill off the jackrabbits (a likely scenario).

A few more previews:
St. Louis, MO - April 28
Monday qualifying queen Paula Reto should be the favorite. Emma Talley, Perrine Delacour, Daniela Darquea and Mo Stacks are the best-of-the-rest pros. ANWA players Maja Stark and Auston Kim will give it a go. Nicole Whiston (U of Tennessee soph) will be there ... wouldn't be surprised if sis Waverly (U of Tennessee senior) was on her bag.
Mendota Heights, MN - May 3
Not much to see here, only 36 players. Lindy Duncan is the best of this bunch with Alana Uriell not far behind.
Novato, CA - May 3
Loaded with top amateurs, including as Rachel Heck, Angelina Ye, Yu Sang Hou, Sadie Englemann, Allisen Corpuz and Brooke Seay ... who might have their hearts broken by the best pro here, Min Lee. Ex-JLPGAer Jennifer Hirano also threw her visor into the ring.
Westminster, CO - May 10
A better field than I expected, considering that Colorado is not a regular destination for big-time women's golf ... includes Team Pano, Laura Gonzalez-Escallon, Matilda Castren, Pannarat T., Youngin Chun, Yujeong Son, old-timer Louise Stahle and (drum roll, please) Maria Fassi ... I doubt the Fassi-cam will be there. Brittney Yada will take a break from the Cactus Tour. The favorite might be ex-Colorado Buff Robyn Choi, assuming she has played this course before.

Whan & Newsom are letting a limited number of patrons watch Ah defend. Olympic is a tough walk for a super senior. Hope I can snag a ticket for a day or two.

More previews:
Half Moon Bay, CA - April 26
Jagger will get the most media attention, but she can forget about outscoring the two favorites, Lucy Li and the Entitled Enchanted Malaysian Princess. S.C. Cheng and Pavarisa Yoktuan have a fighter's chance, too. Lastly, there is Kathryn Imrie ... I've told the story about how she and her swing on the range completely transfixed me at the Curtis Cup ... the only problem: it was in 1990.
Woodburn, OR - April 26
Two players will make it and those two should be Luna Sobron Galmes and Muni He. Muni will be paired with LPGA washout Charlotte Mayorkas. Gabby Lemieux will be here ... it was spelled Gaby Lemieux when she received sponsor invites to the defunct Thornberry Creek tournament. I also see Angela Park of Pasco, WA - it can't be the hotel receptionist Angela Park, right?
Ormond Beach, FL - April 26
There are no obvious favorites here. How about the two Cannuck southpaws, Megan Osland and Christina Foster (I videoed her swing at Lancaster)? Or, how about the nuclear bomb blast survivor, Christine Song? There's a Valerie Tanguay here ... related to A.C. Tanguay? Kim Metraux is here ... maybe her sis Morgan is qualifying elsewhere or looping here. TaylorMade darling Sierra Brooks is here, as well as freelance New York City shutterbug and ex-SC Gamecock Suzie Lee. As for Tammie Green ... you must be kidding.
Beaumont, CA - April 26
A strong field the day after Hugel ... Maguire, Pajaree A., Lee Lopez, T. Joh, Yani, Aditi, Gimmee, Uehara, Do, Henseleit, MacLaren, Ridderstrom, Strom, Yae Eun Hong, Jiwon Jeon and Sarah Jane Smith. The Big Break queen from LONG ago, Kim Welch, is still trying. Yui Kawamoto has the city of Torrance, CA next to her name ... sleeping in JTibs' bed from her high school days?!

The only Big Break that I watched was when Kim Welch won. She had some some good Tournaments on the Symetra Tour. I believe that she got to play a few LPGA Tournaments.
