In a normal year, this is the event where a few washouts would announce their retirements. Plus, other players would be fighting to get into the money list top-50 and avoid q-school. However, it doesn't seem likely that a player would quit after playing a shortened season. Also, the next pro-test/q-school period will run from March thru June, 2021, so I don't know if this year's money list has the same relevance. Assuming the world doesn't blow up in 2021, the JLPGA will have another pro-test/q-school during the normal November time frame.
This tourney kicks off on Thursday for a field of 96 (cut is top-50 plus ties). The Unknown Korean was called up from the minors this week. Her three earlier appearances on the big tour were T-38, T-35 and MC. Her combined earnings in the majors and minors is ¥10,329,500 (about $98,762 USD).
No TV on Thursday. Misc. live broadcasts will be on Friday thru Sunday ... try this YouTube search:

I see why I hadn't seen Miki Sakai anywhere near the top of the Leaderboard for a while. Because her Rolex Ranking was 214 so she hasn't been playing that good lately. She jumped 39 places to 175 because of her second place finish.
Yui Kawamoto has another Tournament to redeem herself after the last Tournament. Kotone Hori Unfortunely wont get a chance .

Kotone Hori +1 tied for forth place, the leader is -4. Maybe Kotone can go low and win the Tournament. Where there's a will there's a way.

The Unknown Korean will tee off at #1 on Thursday in the last group at 10:30 AM. She'll start at #10 at 9:10 AM on Friday. It'll be pretty hard to spot her in a rogue YouTube video, until the weekend ... and I think her swing is pure enough to get her to the weekend.

The Unknown Korean is right on the cut line at 73 (+2), T-48. The big tour plays courses that are 300-400 yards longer than the scrub tour, which might be an issue for her. She had one birdie and two pars on the three par-5 holes.

Kotone Hori finished tied for sixth place. I wish that she had this kind of finishes during the year. Anyway she picked up some pocket money 700,000 Yen.

A few YT videos of Round Two are complete ... here's the current LIVE video, which has two of the leaders, Saso and Nishimura, playing #9:

At five shots back, Koiwai can only look up at her playing partners Saso and Nishimura.

Oh crap, The Unknown Korean botched two late holes and now MUST birdie #9 to have any chance of making the cut ... at least it's a par-5.
Yui was going down the drain after playing lousy on #15 and #16, but crushed her drive at the 510-yard 17th, reached the green protected by two water hazards flanking the entrance to it and made the shortish eagle putt.
Bogey-free 66 put Kana Nagai in the top-10.

The cut was +2 and 55 players made it. It's all over in 2020 for The Unknown Korean (couldn't find a pic this week), but what a great season she had.
