The two Majors that were canceled this year were the Hanwha and the Hite Cup. Hyun Kyung Park won the KLPGA Championship, and So Yeon Ryu won the Korea Women's Open. Hana Bank has never been a Major, but it still has a high purse thanks to its former glory as an LPGA event.

I just wasn't sure what Criteria the KLPGA use to give a Tournament Major status. Thanks for the information, now I know it's not the size of the Purse.

SBS Golf posted the entire media day if you're curious. Yes, it's in Korean and no subtitles.
Here's a cute video. During the media day, the players were asked who they thought might win. Hyo Joo jokingly predicted herself. Well, she's leading after the first round!

A tough day at the Office for So Yeon Ryu +3 and Jeongeun Lee6 +4. So Yeon made her only birdie on the last hole, which helps. Jeongeun had a bad back nine, four bogeys no birdies. First round so three more rounds to rebound for both.
Another bad round for A Yean Cho. Still waiting for her to break out of the slump.
Jin Young Ko had an up and down day, five birdies, four bogeys. She had more than usual bad tee shots, that landed in trouble.
Hee Jeong Lim didn't have her usual great ball striking day. First day so she is still in it at even par.
Min Jung Hur had it going on the front side with birdies on holes 4,5 and 6. However she hit her approach shot in the water on hole eight and made triple bogey. She hung in there after that with one birdie and no bogeys.
Kudos: To Hee Young Park little sister Ju Young Pak -6 first place tie

So Yeon will at least get to play the weekend. She shot one better than yesterday, 75,74.
Looks like Ayean Cho will also play the weekend at +6.
Why has Jin Young Ko one of the best driver of the ball on Tour. Has started hitting a lot more three woods off the tee. She hit three wood on number four yesterday into the hazard. She almost drove into the hazard again on four today with a three wood. Jin Young and Julie Kim were the only two golfers to hit three wood on number ten. They both had to make long putts to save par. Min Jung Hur paired with them hit driver off ten and made birdie. However she still is close enough to the lead to get the win. If she start making more of her birdie putts.
Jeongeun Lee6 shot minus four today to finish at even par. She makes a habit of having a good round after a bad one.
Hee Jeong Lim is just spinning her wheel at even par, so far.
