Whew, no more reason to pay attention to this tournament this year. Yeesh! Sung Hyun Park shot a 3 over par round, and she kicked butt compared to In Gee, who had one of the worst rounds she's had all year. It came out of nowhere considering how solid she was Thursday and most of the day Friday. Mi Hyang couldn't hang on, either. Oh well, let them screw up this week and let's hope they get it out of their system before the really important event next week... P.S. I'll root for Jennifer, but let's face it, she's going to find a way to mess this up like she always does. Sisters hwaiting!

Mel? J.Song? KT? Any one of these winless veterans would be an epic achievement.

One of these days Song will close it out. Would love to see it - and it'd be really great for her confidence. She's definitely a bit of a headcase when she's close like this on the final day though. But we can hope, right?
As for Namdalla, I hope KPMG inspires her get serious. But she's maybe just not match tough yet. Didn't play much in Korea because of her shoulder.

You know I have played this game for a long time, but still can't figure it out. Of how you can go from fourteen birdies in two days and zero the third. It's not that the course got that much harder because some players went low. I guess In Gee and only In Gee know why. It's not a knock on her just a mystery to me. Just hope she rebound tomorrow, to gain confidence for the Major.

Jump on the MHL rollercoaster today where you'll toss your cookies ... three bogeys on her first seven holes, then a birdie at 8 and an eagle at 9.
Reid finally stumbled at #6, so J. Song is now tied for the lead at -16, but this will NOT end well maybe I was wrong about her.
For you complainers about GC, they're not as bad as they could be. I was flipping through a booklet handed out at the 2011 Shoprite ... GC broadcast Friday's round at Midnight.

Congratulation to Mel Reid for her first LPGA win.
In Gee Chun had five birdies and an eagle today. Which gave her nineteen birdies and an eagle for the Tournament. Finishing -3, goes without saying that she also made too many bogeys and double bogeys.
By the way those par fives are an insult to these Professional Golfers. The LPGA wonders why the knowledgeable golf fan doesn't take them serious.

They probably hit the same club in as the men, however.

The LPGA is already hitting from the back tees here ... the one major exception being the par-3 11th where they put in a 230-yard tee box a few years ago. I would like to see them extend the par-5 3rd by building a new tee another 50 or 100 yards deeper into the marshes, which would differentiate it from #9 and #18 (but I doubt they own the marshes). Keep in mind that this place is a holiday hacker course for 51 weeks per year, so the owners aren't concerned with "LPGA optics". When it comes to a fan-friendly layout, location, roads, amenities and casinos, this must be the most "useful" place in the AC area for the LPGA ... it's strictly business. However, it would be fun to see them play at Galloway up the road, the playas course used in pro-ams. They used to play this event at Greate Bay CC ... I never played it, but I drove through it once on Route 9, looked beautiful ... but Somers Point is really off the beaten track and isolated.

Another Note: The CME Group will add ten more players, go to 70 this year. The Purse will be 3 Million down from the 5 Million last year. The winner will receive 1.1 Million, down from the 1.5 Million last year. Also two Sponsor exemptions will be given out. No mention of any other exceptions.

One of the CME exemptions has Jin Young Ko's name written on it. But she doesn't need the exemption, she's here to win USWO.

Thanks for the inside info. New Jersey seems like an underrated golf course state (pine valley aside). Especially if you appreciate Charles Banks.

Now you've done it. Now you've set me off. I've played the Banks course at Forsgate CC two or three times and saw a USWO qualifier there last year (see my report). It has a few amazing holes and brutally deep bunkers ... one of the members tells all visitors that the LPGA stopped playing there because the bunkers were too tough (40 years ago). I wish they'd return; that place is in my backyard.
Pine Valley and Galloway are two places visited by Gary Player during the spring lockdown. I keep saying I'll visit Pine Valley one day at the Crump Cup, but never get around to it ... maybe next year! Galloway is really impressive every time I check out the ShopRite pro-ams there. The last two holes are as good as it gets ... the par-3 17th, which overlooks the bay towards the big casino hotels, has a marker at the back of the back tee - 231/253/275. The long par-4 18th from an elevated tee has a gentle left-to-right bend with a forest down the right side and a massive bunker to carry for your second shot.
So far, I've only talked about private clubs. The NJ public courses run the gamut from gems to goat tracks. Via the free GolfNow membership, I've been playing about once a week since mid-July ... unfortunately, GolfNow's so-called "hot deals" either suck or don't exist in Central NJ. I had to go all the way up to Hackettstown at least a half dozen times to get a super cheap rate in the early morning ... which I don't want anymore now that its cold in the AM. I usually pull a handcart, but I got a cheap cart rate (minus a $10 credit) at Gambler Ridge later this week at lunchtime ... I think I played there once long ago and have no memory of it. The Meadows at Middlesex is a good inexpensive walking option I've played a couple of times in the afternoon recently. It was there that I played a whole round with one solitary golf ball (which rarely happens), a yellow 2018 version of TM's Project (a). That's a frickin' good ball, so I picked up a couple of boxes at Walmart ... and not easy to find as they've been replaced with TM's more expensive Tour Response.
