I suspect that some players, such as Minjee, are enjoying the absence of spectators.

Inbee will be playing with Ariya tomorrow. That oughtta be interesting. But boy, if Minjee is ever going to win a Major, this is the time. A weak field, a literal nobody on top of the leaderboard, and no great players are too close. If she just avoids stupid mistakes, I feel like this might go her way. I almost feel like Minjee or some star needs to rescue the legitimacy of this event. Whatever you feel about Shibuno, she was virtually unknown the year before she won this, and almost no one outside of Japan knew her. Still, she was Annika compared to this woman. If we get a Symetra Tour stalwart winning it this year, they might consider putting an asterisk next to the tournament in the record books. Still hoping that Inbee and In Gee make a run and we get some real fireworks on Sunday. Fingers crossed. Sisters hwaiting!!!

Try the Cactus Tour, where she cashed 3 of those giant $2k winners checks in the past few months. ********** Read it and weep... www.thestar.com.my/sport/golf/2020/08/23/tan-misses-cut-again-in-the-gruelling-troonThis week’s result ended Kelly’s fine run on the LPGA Tour this season where she advanced to the weekend rounds in all her five appearances to date.
Her best finish was tying for ninth at the Marathon Classic two weeks ago.
Kelly will aim to bounce back when she returns to the US for the NW Arkansas Championship, which begins next Thursday.

Don't pick on Sophia she was a great College player at USC. Kristen Gillman had five birdies on the front and two bogeys on the back. That happens a lot on the Golf Tours. Before I hadn't broken eighty in Golf. I shot thirty five on the front nine and forty five on the back nine. The Golf Pro told me that I was out of my comfort zone. Edit: Then there are players like Sei Young Kim that aren't afraid to go low.

Getting back to reality, this looks like a great opportunity for Minjee to get her first Major.
Inbee has a chance but has to have her "A" game, her "B" game wont do it.
Lydia has a chance but makes too many mental mistakes. Like driving into the ditch on the one hole. If you are going to lay up... lay up. That would never have happened to Lydia in her early golfing career. Another thing she has enough experience to not depend on her Caddie so much. It's time to take control of her game.
However they have to be aware of those second tier players that have nothing to lose. One of them can get hot and play the round of their golfing career. It seems to happen in Majors too many times.

jumpcutThe more I follow golf, the less I understand it. It doesn't matter, it's the same for both men's and women's golf. Danielle Kang score average was less than 68.00 in eight tournaments before links courses; then it sky rocked up. Kelly Tan played like a Top-10 player, then the bottom fell off. Stacy Lewis won last week on pseudo links course; then missed the cut on real links course.

Looking ahead, WalMart/P&G has 155 of 156 spots filled. Logically, the one opening would be for the AIG winner, if that person is not already in the field. Popov is NOT in the field ... she's not even in lpga.com when you look up her name (profile is on the Symetra site). Shibuno is NOT in the field for Arkansas ... I don't know if she tried or just didn't have the juice to get in ... of course, Team Pano has the juice. Shibuno is automatically qualified for ANA and will play in Portland the following week. It's too soon for any field info from ShopRite and KPMG.
******
Right from the start at the 1st hole she is hitting from a garbage dump. ... I don't want to talk about it.

MHL (-3 thru 15) and DK (-4 thru 15) probably started their day with the secret handshake. Man Bun is the looper and I assume Smokeshow's brother is the other looper.

Sophia Popov was at the Drive On Championship--as Anne Van Dam's caddie.

Popov finished 25th on last year's Symetra Tour money list. All credit to her getting it done this week but I think I'll stop watching now. Good for Inbee, picking up some coveted Olympics points.

Unless the Rolex tee clocks are malfunctioning, NBC is on almost a 15 minute delay.

Not sure how to make sense of this result.
