Never heard of Catherine Park before, who advanced to match play. A USGA article says her mom was the archery gold medalist at the '84 Olympics and daddy was on the judo team.
Never heard of Yurika Tanida, who also advanced to match play. She was a junior last fall at Michigan State and won a car without ruining her amateur status, but with one condition:

Two of the four USC Trojans moved to the Round of thirty two. Alyan Abdulghany won 5&4, Gabriele Ruffels not at her best won 3&2.

www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/championships/2020/u-s--women-s-amateur.html#!scoring The stroke play medalist Rachel Heck lost one up. Not to many if any winners went on to win Match Play. Rachel Kuehn the North and South winner lost 2 and one. She wont be able to duplicate what Gabriela Ruffels did by wining both Amateur Tournaments. The two USC Trojans left, Gabriela Ruffels 4 and 2 and Alyaa Abdulghanny 2 up winners move on.

There was a chance for all four semi-finalists to be American but only Rose Zhang won her match. Defending champion Ruffels won 2 of the last three holes of her match to move on.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CDpNtZwposF There will be a repeat of 2019 finals between Stanford U and USC player. Gabriela Ruffels attempting a second US Women Amateur in a row. Alyaa Abdulghany being out driven by twenty or thirty yards. Also getting down early, really showed why she is one of the top Amateurs. Being short off the tee at hole seventeen she failed to clear the water. So she lost two and one after a gutsy effort.
