Day 1 - Fourball matches: KLPGA 4.5, LPGA 1.5Here we go again! The KLPGA manages to take a big lead on day one. It actually was close much of the way. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlUqEolY_n The pivotal results were in matches 4 + 5. The KLPGA team of Ji Hyun Oh and Ye Rim Choi managed to eke out a tie against Ha Neul Kim and MJ Hur, when it looked like this would be an LPGA win. Meanwhile, Lee6 and Jiyai Shin lost against the Bomb Squad of Hae Ran Ryu and A Lim Kim 1 up, a match that went the distance and another match where the LPGA lost an advantage on the back nine. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlAXpulk6K So Young Lee and Hee Jeong Lim beat So Yeon Ryu and Seon Woo Bae 2 & 1, hardly the only upset of the day. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlAlTSlQD3 Another upset: Min Ji Park and Ji Young Kim over Inbee Park and Min Young Lee 3 & 2. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlA8SAFxL- This was one of the few matches where the KLPGA had the advantage, and they played as expected, with two of their best players, Hyun Kyung Park and Hye Jin Choi, overcoming Na Yeon Choi and Mi Hyang Lee 3 & 2. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlHsmsFrFV Ouch, this hurt the LPGA. A Lim Kim and Hae Ran Ryu were two down after ten to Jeongeun Lee6 and JiYai Shin, but came back and won 1 up thanks to Ryu, who won three holes on the back. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlH69NlSBw The tie. MJ Hur and Sky Kim were 2 up after 12. Ji Hyun Oh won 14 and 16 to square the match. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDlIEp7FMCc Amazingly, the LPGA's only win. Hyo Joo Kim and Eun Hee Ji destroyed Ji Hyun Kim and So Mi Lee 4 & 3.

Day 2's foursome matches look like this:
Match 1: Inbee Park/Na Yeon Choi vs. Ji Hyun Oh/Ji Hyun Kim Advantage: Tough to call this one. I'm leaning KLPGA here. Pivotal question: How ready is NYC to play at this level?
Match 2: Ha Neul Kim/MJ Hur vs. Hyun Kyung Park/So Mi Lee Advantage: Slight edge to KLPGA here. Hyun Kyung has been on fire all year. Pivotal Question: Sky and MJ had good teamwork on Day 1. Can they repeat?
Match 3: So Yeon Ryu/Jeongeun Lee6 vs. Hye Jin Choi/Ji Young Kim Advantage: LPGA Pivotal Question: This could be the match of the day. So Yeon had a big win at the Korea Open, Lee6 is coming off a great week, so both are strong. Ji Young also recently won, and Hye Jin is always strong.
Match 4: Bo Mee Lee/Mi Hyang Lee vs. Ye Rim Choi/Hae Ran Ryu Advantage: Slight KLPGA edge. Hae Ran is on a roll. Pivotal Question: Bo Mee and NYC are the two LPGA players who haven't played well in a while. Is Bo Mee going to rise here?
Match 5: Eun Hee Ji/Hyo Joo Kim vs. Hee Jeong Lim/Min Ji Park Advantage: LPGA Pivotal Question: Ji and Kim were dominating in round 1. Kim has been great all year. This is a solid KLPGA pairing, though, with Lim good at nearly but not quite getting the win. Can Lim face down Hojo?
Match 6: Min Young Lee/Seon Woo Bae vs. Da Yeon Lee/So Young Lee Advantage: KLPGA Pivotal Question: Will So Young Lee bring the heat, like she has much of this year?

I wasn't too surprised about Min Ji Park and Ji Yeong2 Kim win over Inbee Park and Min Young2 Kim. Min Ji Park can get on a roll when she is making her putts. It all depended on how well Ji Yeong2 played.
Inbee hasn't played in a while and Min Young has played but not that good.
Jiyai Shin and Jeong Eun Lee losing was a big surprise to me.
I was hoping for a tie for So Yeon and Seon Woo vs Hee Jeong and So Young. They both were my favorite Teams.
I heard that SBS replayed the Tournament later last night. I didn't bother to check after they left it for the US Women Amateur.

My favorite match did end up as a tie. I love Ji Hyun Oh and Ha Neul Kim, and MJ Hur is also cool. Don't really know Ye Rim Choi that well, but it would have been fun just for the other three.
How much has Jiyai played this year? It seemed like Lee6 was trying to carry that team. Still, A Lim Kim has been terrible this year. Hae Ran Ryu single handedly got that win I think.
So Yeon and Inbee need to step it up. They lose way too many of these matches over the years. They are too good for that.

Since you mention So Yeon losing matches. I hadn't thought about her recent Match play record. She did lose her last two single matches to Char Young Kim and A Lim Kim. She will turn it around the next two matches this year.

Orange radar has swamped the ROK ... no scores posted yet for Round Two and I don't know if they'll play at all on Saturday.

Day 2The second round was canceled due to the fact that no team got through at least nine holes due to fog, rain and lightning. The result of the event will depend on the singles tomorrow. Only two matches even got started. The first match -- pitting the Ji Hyuns against Inbee and NYC -- got to the fourth hole with the LPGA team having a 1 up lead. The second match, with Ha Neul Kim and MJ Hur going against Hyun Kyung Park and So Mi Lee, got through just one hole and were all square. Here are a few photos: Ji Hyun Kim Ji Hyun Oh Ji Hyuns hwaiting! Inbee NYC So Mi Lee Hyun Kyung + So Mi MJ That's Bo Mee and (hopefully) her hubby!

Singles Match ups! https://www.instagram.com/p/CDoCq84lZC3 Match 1: Jiyai Shin vs. Ji Hyun OhAdvantage: KLPGA Ji Hyun has a lot more game play this year, giving her the slight advantage. Match 2: Na Yeon Choi vs. So Mi LeeAdvantage: KLPGA NYC has to prove to me that she's back. So Mi has been having an OK year so far, but she is far more battle-ready. Match 3: Ha Neul Kim vs. Ye Rim ChoiAdvantage: LPGA Ye Rim is probably the weakest player on the KLPGA squad; but Ha Neul hasn't played much this year. Still tipping Sky, but it's hard to call. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDoDKEnlSl5 Match 4: MJ Hur vs. Hae Ran RyuAdvantage: KLPGA Hae Ran is on a roll vs. a player in her first start in months. Match 5: Hyo Joo Kim vs. Min Ji ParkAdvantage: LPGA If the LPGA doesn't win this one, they're in trouble. Match 6: Min Young Lee vs. Da Yeon LeeAdvantage: LPGA Really close. Neither player has had a great year. I'll go with Min Young, whom I think is the better player. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDoDfkzlcj- Match 7: Mi Hyang Lee vs. Ji Young KimAdvantage: LPGA Mi Hyang has barely played; Ji Young had a win recently but isn't hugely consistent. I give the advantage to the LPGAer, but it could be close. Match 8: Bo Mee Lee vs. Hyun Kyung ParkAdvantage: KLPGA I'd be surprised if Bo Mee pulls this one out. Match 9: Jeongeun Lee6 vs. Hee Jeong LimAdvantage: LPGA Great match here. I think Lee6 is a must win for the LPGA. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDoD6bDFF6w Match 10: Eun Hee Ji vs. So Young LeeAdvantage: KLPGA This one ought to be close, but Lee has had the better year. Match 11: So Yeon Ryu vs. Hye Jin ChoiAdvantage: LPGA Great match. Hye Jin has not been at her very best, and Ryu just won the Korea Women's Open. Would not surprise me if Choi wins by a lot, but I give the slight edge to So Yeon. Match 12: Seon Woo Bae vs. A Lim KimAdvantage: LPGA A Lim has been terrible this year. If it goes by my guesses, KLPGA retains the title, 9.5 to 8.5.

Either of these teams would destroy any American "Solheim Cup" squad IMO.

Either of these teams would destroy any American "Solheim Cup" squad IMO. So true. And in the now so international world of the LPGA, Solheim really is pretty irrelevant. Wish US media would push the UL Crown more - that's the future of international competition.

If Hyo Joo Kim didn't have a short game and make putts from all over the green. She probably have trouble getting top tens.
