This tournament has a small field of 120; that's probably is why Yealimi Noh isn't in the field.
Is it also why Hyun Joo Yoo needs to be recommended?

WTF does "recommended" mean? I must have been out to lunch when this became a term. Who does the recommending and who does the approving? Why isn't In Gee ever invited or recommended? Is she still avoiding The Hulk? Enquiring minds need to know.

Is she still avoiding The Hulk? Enquiring minds need to know. Sei Young Kim is invited by the tournament. Ha Neul Kim and Hyun Joo Yoo are recommended by their sponsors. This is the difference between KLPGA and LPGA that powerful sponsors like Hana, KB and Lite have the right to recommend their sponsees to almost any tournaments. I'm pretty sure In Gee is a life member of KLPGA; she can play any tournaments she wants.

I'm pretty sure In Gee is a life member of KLPGA; she can play any tournaments she wants. In Gee should be playing now if she wants to be major-ready in the first tier of talent alongside Jin Young, Six, Bada$$ and HoJo. She won this event twice, for chrissake. It seems she's relegated herself to the second tier of players like Jtibs, MHL and Chella. Unless she's injured.

jumpcut In Gee is currently Rolex No. 55, #23 in the pecking order of Korean players. From media standpoint; she's out of sight, out of mind. Very difficult to know what she's up to nowadays.

We probably won't see Inbee playing KLPGA at all.
She's Olympics driven; and she needs to be in solo third or better each time out in order not to lose ground in Rolex ranking.

Sei Young played on the KLPGA for several years; I would think she can play any tournament she wants without special intervention. Ditto Hyo Joo, the 2014 KLPGA Player of the Year.
I'm not really sure why certain players seem to need special permission to get into fields...

The KLPGA has as far as I remembered has listed players, as "Recommended or Invited". Because the KLPGA is considered a third tier tour behind the LPGA and JLPGA, it was an after thought. The late start for both tours and some of their players playing the KLPGA. I guess makes how the KLPGA run their Tour has become an issue.
Those players left the KLPGA for money or prestige that's fine. The plus side of them playing now is more top players to watch, for the shut in fans.
However after their Tours resume play the KLPGA will become an after thought. Which is also fine because more KLPGA players will be able to play.

Yealimi Noh isn't playing this week; but she caught attention anyway Yealimi Noh"I'm going to be a World's No. 1, I'll play and make fans enthusiastic like Pro Sung-Hyun Park."

World No. 1 in women's golf commits to S. Korean Major SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) -- Ko Jin-young, world No. 1 in women's golf, will play in a South Korean major championship next week.
The organizers of the 34th Kia Motors Korea Women's Open Golf Championship announced Tuesday that Ko has committed to the second major tournament of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) season. It will run from June 18-21 at Bears Best Cheongna Golf Club in Incheon, 40 kilometers west of Seoul.
With the U.S. LPGA Tour grounded during the coronavirus pandemic, Ko made her 2020 debut last week at a KLPGA event, Lotte Cantata Ladies Open.
Ko will sit out this week's S-Oil Championship and then return to action at the Korea Women's Open. Ko was the 2019 LPGA Player of the Year on the strength of her four titles, which included two majors. She also picked up the money title and the scoring title.
Joining Ko in the star-studded field will be Lee Jeong-eun, world No. 10 and the reigning LPGA Rookie of the Year. It will be her fifth consecutive KLPGA appearance. The sixth-ranked Kim Sei-young and No. 13 Kim Hyo-joo will also take the field, as will former world No. 1 Ryu So-Yeon, currently ranked 18th. Of eight South Koreans inside the top 20 in the world rankings, five will be at Bears Best Cheongna.
KLPGA members in the field include Park Hyun-kyung, who won the first major of the season at the KLPGA Championship last month, and Choi Hye-jin, the 2019 KLPGA Player of the Year, and Lee So-young, who's leading the tour in money and Player of the Year points this year.
The organizing committee will let fans vote on three pairings for the first two rounds.
I guess Jin Young Ko dropped out of the 14th S-Oil this week.
